strongly considering Axis Se7ens. need some input.

im seriously considering purchasing a set of Axis Se7ens in chrome from SuperBuyTires.com. its down to 19 or 18, im leaning toward 18 b/c of the tire wear and durability, there are some pretty bumpy streets here and i just dont wanna be buyin new rims or repairing them so often. does this sound like a good idea to you all? i want them too look as good on the car as possible so would 18 suffice? i wouldnt be putting a drop on the car for a while prolly so would that make it look rediculously 4x4ish? its the age old battle between style and practicallity. any input (that does not contain any sarcastic remarks) would be greatly appreciated cause this is a good 2k and change we're talking about, i need to spend wisely.

i would go w/ 19's. 18's just look too small, and the ride difference can't be much.

i think soopa has 19's in chrome on his black cl-s. he posted em awhile back with his painted headlights. they are PIMP. i think 18's would be fine, still would have the pimp affect. get whatever you want, you can't go wrong.

I live in Orlando and was in the same dilemma as you. I finally decided on 19's. The difference in sidewall height from a 225/40/18 and a 235/35/19 is about 0.25". The 19 is almost identical in overall diameter as the stock setup, so the speedo/odometer won't be that far off. I decided to go larger, if I wasn't happy with the 18's I would have to sell them, most likely take a loss. Too much hassle.

I get mine installed this Friday at Racing Zone.
RH C5's on Satin Silver.

I wanted to go with 19" wheels too, but in hawaii we have this B.S. reconstruction permit. If we change the wheels by more than one inch we will have to apply for a recon sticker. Thus, i have 18" wheels and they look too small for such a big car.

are you kidding...you need a permit to change your wheels in hawaii?

by the way, i went with the 18's because the roads suck here too...i think they look fine with a drop

Whatever wheels you get, GET 19S! And definitely drop your car if you're getting aftermarket wheels. IMHO, it looks ridiculous if you don't. I even think my car looks a little wierd with the 19s and the slight Comptech drop.

I'll have some up by tomorrow. I haven't taken any yet since my car hasn't been washed in over a month and it keeps raining all the time, but I'll just take some with the car as nasty as it is. I need to find a detailer that uses Zaino down here.

ItalianStallion,

If I were you I'd wait until the 1-piece Se7en comes out that looks like the 3-piece Se7en. I was told that it's expected to come out in July. I wanted to wait for them, but my tires were bald so I couldn't.

i understand what you all are saying as far as, "try to be more original" and other variations of that, but in reality, impressing you guys is great but i just want to impress people in general, not just people i will likely never meet, ya know what im saying? thanks for all your input thusfar but could you all keep what i just said in mind, and just give me a lil input that would help me with my decision between 18 and 19? i am fully aware that soopa has the same EXACT wheels, in fact when i saw his car that is what inspired me so i know im copying, but im copying a good idea IMO. also a lil FYI, there are soooo many huge speed bumps i go over everyday, that is primarily why im hesitant to lower, couldnt those also potentially bend a wheel?

Exactly, this car even makes 19s look small. I'd look for some 19s on which the spokes come all the way out to the tire, like on our stock rims.

I talked to Axis last week and they said it wont be out untill Aug. And i also talked to a dealer that said 19x8 +45 retail will be $350
