Do you mean the threads or the corners of the nut?

Is the lug nut still on the stud?

To replace studs, take the wheel off, spay some liquid wrench on the stud (if lots of rust) and wait, tap out the stud and replace.

This happened to me on my SSR GT1's on my CLS. My rim lock stripped and I took it to a welding shop, they tack welded a nut on the rim lock and took it off that way. Problem is, the tack welding destroyed the clearcoat on the rim.

If you've got the clearance around the nut, this is best. I didn't have that luxury when my lock stripped.

This is what I would try ... if it doesn't work, take it to your local tire shop. They might have a few tools you don't. I know they make a socket that hugs the sides of a bolt. If you take it to a shop, they will most likely be able to get it off without a big issue. In fact, I would take it to a local shop before spending the money on the bolt remover.

As for locks, if you have clearance, vice grips work ... I don't think you would have clearance unless you had the old steal wheels (that the last car I had to do that on).

That happened to 2 of mine and doing it myself I ended up breaking one of my studs, the Dealer charged 90 bucks to replace that. I took it to a rim shop and they found a socket similar to the one that I had and they hammered it in so that it was nice and snug, and that’s how they ended up taking that out.

I don't go to the dealer for anything except warranty work. They charge for everything! I have a nice local shop that works only on Honda and Acura cars. It's not that I couldn't do it my self, it's just that those guys are so much better at it them me. What takes me 4 hours, they do in 1. It pays to find a good local shop ... and they are very hard to find!

DAMN I broke a stud last week and ordered it from the dealer for 94 cents. Took me around 30 minutes to replace it.

if it is stripped, i have already used a metric socket on the lugnut.
you may have to tap it on with a hammer, make sure it one that is tight. you will prob have to use some sort of lever to break it loose.

then you will have to figure out how to get the nut out of the socket.
but at least the wheel will be off

Shawn, have you ever used the gator grip? I've thought about getting it, but I've always wondered if it really works. Let me know

I don't know if it works but I'm pretty sure you couldn't use it in this case ... I don't think you have the clearance.

I don’t own one, but yes I have used them.
THEY WORK.

And I heard that it’s the tool of choice for wheel thieves.
It’s quite easy to bypass OEM wheel locks with one of them and a big hammer.

From the pic it looks like the outside of the lug nuts are round. That might be a major problem.

Yeah the outside of the lug nuts are round. Would these suggestions still work? Also does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks for the help guys.

You live in the Bronx, go to Webster AVE, there are like 50 tire shops there they will remove those for you in minutes and for nearly nothing and they are pros in stealing cars and taking wheels off, locks or no locks...
