Stock shocks going out w/ modified Springs?
Since I know that some of us have modified springs (speaking Comptech here), I was just wondering if anyones noticed a degradation in their stock shocks (aka you bounce around more than you used to before). I'm pushing 34k miles on my baby, and I have noticed that I am bouncing around more often than what I was used to on the same roads i've driven (for those in Houston that route usually consist of from Westheimer to 249 on Beltway 8 to and from work). I knew that the springs would shorten the life span on my factory shocks, but i'm thinking 34k is a little too soon. I've also got the sway bars but don't think that would affect anything.
Maybe time to upgrade to the Koni's.

I wonder about this same thing. I put Comptech springs and sways on my car at 13k. I'm only at 25k and it seems like I've been feeling a bit of excess bounce since 20k. That seems way way too early. The Comptechs only lower an inch. Surely they can't wear out the stock shocks that quickly?? Especially considering stock shocks can last for 75k+ easily. I guess I need to drive a stock Type S to see the difference.
