Stock shift knob??

How does everyone feel about their stock 6 speed shift knob??

I think its really really high..

I actually unscrewed it the other day while i was cleaning my car and my buddy asked if i can move my car so he can pull in his s2k for a quick wash.
So i just jumped in and moved it.. and without the shift knob, it felt really nice... nice n low...

Does anyone have the same problem as me??

And how did they fix it?? I was planning on getting a Momo but doesn't know if it has a height difference or not..

And is it safe if i dremel out some thread?? does that sound crazy??

Thanks for all the help...

even though the shift knob sits high, I've gotten used to it b/c when I lay my arm on the center console, the shift knob is at a perfect length from where the height of my hand is imo

Some have cut the post down.
I've used both the TSX knob and the TL knob, both are shorter and make a big difference. The TSX and S2000 knobs are a lot heavier weighted than the stock.
I'm using the TL knob right now. anything is an improvement over the stock CL knob. throws feel shorter too with shorter knobs.
