Its fun picking on ricers. Now I know how those Mustang and Camaro owners felt back when I was driving my first Civic.

Yea, I admit it. I was a ricer. I had a 1.5l Civic hatchback with the loudest exhaust known to man. I never had a body kit though. But it handled well. The handling is the only reason I bought another one. I lost many Mustangs in the twisties

yeah fast off the line, but once you get going, no problem

also most of them have shitty suspension anyways, so twisties no good for them, did't the mustang finally get irs, just a few years ago anyways as standard equipment (like the last body redesign)

I was talking about back when I had my Civic aka the torqueless wonder.

Before I had the engine built I was beating up on Mustangs. I didnt get the chance to race any Camaros. Surprisingly there arent that many V8 Camaros here, mainly V6s driven by old ladies.

The stock Mustang from Ford never had IRS. I forget what model it was, it was either a Shelby or Saleen version (???) where an outside shop put an IRS in. But with the newest models, the suspension was actually setup correctly so it handles pretty well unless your on a very bumpy road.

If the new 2011 Mustang had an IRS, Id get it. That classic 5.0 V8 sound, 412hp, 6MT, yes please.

also the mustang did have IRS since 2000 or so in the Cobra, but as said kinda, it was a bolt in affair, so an IRS with alot of compromises

What harmonic balancer? Our engines are internally balanced.

why not just do the starter method backwards... which is tightening.

do a little blip and that should be tight enough.

anyone agree?

I took it for a drive and nothing happened I didnt check how tight it was yet , My dad lives about 25 km away and he has an air compressor and impact gun I could go there but I dont feel like driving out there. But I willl if thats the only way

I thought of that but you can only loosen it that way if you think about it , Its kind of confusing but in the simplest way the crank wont spin backward, I was trying to wrap my head around it for like 5 or ten minutes and on top of that it would freak me out to do that

Got my UR light weight pulleys a few weeks ago and they have just been sitting on my desk. How much will it cost to have these installed? I don't feel like screwing with this myself at all, I've read the DIY on it and just don't want to mess with it.

Fluffy - If you remove the flywheel inspection plate you will be able to jam the teeth with something, then you can tighten the bolt. I hit mine with the impact wrench a few times, brought it to the shop to see if they can tighten it more and they said I already got it to 181ft-lbs.

I hit it with my gun at my dads place (Dont ask me why he has my gun that I paid 400+ for ) hope fully it holds up but its just a construction compressor but next oil change Im going to get a shop to do, its too cold any ways Ill get them to hit it with a gun quick while there doing the oil change.

BTW any one who is doing this it took me less than an hour in my none heated garage and its -11c (12f) so its easy

as for the performance, its about the same gain as a cai but different I find theres alot more low end Torque which our cars desperately needs, I also found that it revs faste,r I was in ss mode and I red lined it by accident cause I didnt expect it to rev that fast. But like someone stated it frees up power and doesnt add power and thats what it feels like it hard to explain, but if I had to I would say it feels like I took 2 or 3 people out of the car
