Stock HID Bulb Upgrade
I have a 2001 Type-S and it came stock with hids, however the passenger side is pink and flutters and will even turn off on its own. To make it turn back on I have to turn the low beams off, then turn them back on and it will turn back on but look pink. I have tried to replace the bulb, no luck, the ballast, no luck. Any tips? I'm thinking I need to buy a nice set of replacements, thinking morimoto's, for the ballasts and bulbs. However I want to know does the cl come stock with 4300k or 5k? Also is it true that if I were to get the 50w bulbs and ballasts that it will wash out the color? So does the color of the 50w kit look different from the color of the 35w kit? I'm looking to replace my highs, lows and fogs. I ordered some accord fogs and am going to slap some hids in there.

4300K is stock, but 5000K looks undoubtedly cleaner, while maintaining about the same visibility as the 4300K.
I have Morimoto kits with 5000K and they're great.

4300 Kelvin has the best usable light.
any thing above 4300 kelvin will be hard on your eyes because of the lost lumens.
'Tis science.
so, knowing that the best usable light is at 4300 Kelvin, most auto manufactures WILL NOT stray too far from this.
MOST auto manufactures will keep the wattage at 35 watts.
low heat and enough watts to power the bulbs.
what happens when your run Higher watts through a bulb? the bulb gets BRIGHTER.
More science for you...
but this leads to a hotter bulb, which can melt things.

How do you replace the stock HID Low beam bulbs? One of mine is not working well. Is there a link on ebay or any other website where i can buy a pair? I am looking for something around 6000K like yours. And would i have to change the factory Ballast?

55 watts will OVER HEAT THINGS and WILL melt PLASTIC housings.
Do you want to melt plastic housings?
if not, stay with 35 watts. there's no reason to upgrade to 55 watts.
as stated, 4300 Kelvin gives the best usable light. you can stray away if you want to. but you'll lose usable light while straining your eyes at night and in bad weather.
Do you want to strain your eyes at night and possibly crash in bad weather?
if not stick to 4300 Kelvin. the highest I would go is 5000 Kelvin

i'm not the one that will be driving your car.
if you want headaches because of eye strain and poor visibility due to loss of lumens from a higher Kelvin temp, Be my guest.
it's science. its not opinions.
4300k -5000K is the sweet spot for color and visibility.
head to theretrofitsource.com to take a look at your options.
it'll all make sense when you actually loo at your buklbs
