Stock Battery Life
My 2001 CLS is still running well with its stock battery.. The car has recently hit 47k miles and I'm wondering if I should be proactive and replace the battery..
I travel up to NYC once or twice a month, and usually someplace around Philly or the beach one time per month, and thus don't want to get stranded away from home (granted replacing a battery is not very time consuming, I'd prefer not to deal with it while "on the road")...
I guess my question is-- roughly, give me an idea how long the stock battery will last on a stock ride.. please..
Thanks

2.5 years or about 55K plus, it will kick the bucket ! Interstate or Sears Die hard ar fav's here. The Optima's I'm now sure which would be best suited for our cars. Blue top, red top, yellow top......poo yie...............and expensive too !

pretty sure the only optima that fits without moving stuff around is the red top, which is pretty much just a regular battery. The yellow tops are too big. Or so I was told.

I'm at 82,000 miles on my 2001 (3 years and 2 months). I've killed the battery a couple of times this summer by leaving the xm radio on for a few hours. looking for a sale before cold weather hits.. YMMV
