lol eaten for lunch and then some......

Gearing of the z06 also has alot to do with it's MASSIVE pull in the top end. 400ftlbs could also have something to do with it as well. But you can hear the STi driver say 6th gear 130mph....that is short short gearing. Regardless.....z06 on the highway is NOTHING to mess with.....

The STi is slower than a Z06 on the straight. Consistently.

Shitty videos. I doubt the Z06 was racing in a few of those, because a Z06 would take a STi no problem.

Damn.. I was at E-town about a month ago for the Vette event and the slowest Z06 to run that day ran a 12.6. The fastest ran 9.8 in the 1/4

why not just accept the fact that an american muscle car lost to an import? First the mustang cobra v. e55 and now this one.

Didnt even watch the video....The Z06 was either not racing or had a poor driver. A Z06 traps 10+ mph higher than a STi. Even N/A's fastest modded STi can't beat what good drivers have achieved in bone stock Z06's.

Heh, ya he beat the driver. kinda like fotis & I's conversation at lunch. He think he can beat a C5 vette in his CLS at the track. (mind you he has springs/sways). He says he has beaten other vettes. But it's the same scenario... beat the driver, not the car.

A C5 would run circles around a CLS /w equal drivers.

Although w/ AWD cars, i'm sure you'll agree, trap speeds are decieving. But yet STi drivin well will net low 13's, z06 stock is what like 12.9 or something?

STi stock runs 13.1-13.5 with a good driver from what I have seen. Stock Z06's have run low 12s @ roughly 113. No way a stock STi is going to touch that. Even the Ultimate Racing STi, which is currently the fastest STi in N/A, can't beat the best stock Z06 times.

He was thinking his car could outperform a C5. Which just isn't the case.

Just because you pass a enzo doesn't mean your car handles better than one.

I didn't mean 1/4 mile racing.

Besides straight line accel.

Vette has better: power, total weight, rigid frame, suspension, weight balance, gearing, steering feedback ... (even with his mods)

You really are delusional aren't you? I was saying that I've seen over 10 Z06's at the track recently. Mid 12's was the SLOWEST one ran that day. One was under 10's in the 1/4.

Here it is. Well driven, the Z06 stock is faster than an STi stock. Fact. (as you seem to love that word)

Oh BTW... Show me a STi that can run 9.8 in the 1/4 which I viewed a Z06 run in person.

yea it's a common thing, most of them spun forever or shifted slowly

and btw guys, stock Z06's on avg run mid to high 12's. I went to a track day w/ a bunch of vettes and some guy did knock out a 11.9X on slicks. But the avg stock cars were running in the 12.6 area. The STI will definately take it to about mid track, but then after that it's toast.

and btw, from what I hear there was an STi tapping off low 11's out at california speedway a few weeks back. I know it's definately not the fastest STi in NA either.

A Z06 should not be compared with an STi, 2 seat V8 $50k RWD sports car vs. a $31k JDM AWD Turbo4 sedan.

Just simply 2 different cars with 2 different missions.
