I was 23 when I got my 1st gen CL. I was given a loaner car when I had my car in for warranty work.

Oh, and that was at Steven's Creek too.

they're not truly "loaners" to acura...actually that're more like "no-charge rentals" because most dealerships get re-imbursed for them from acura. it's almost like the dealership runs it's own car rental business. for the most part car rental industry calls for customers to be 25 to rent. i think thrfty car rental does allow you to be 21.
btw..this is for jersey law...don't know what other states/dealers do

I bought my car at Steven's Creek and I never went back...bad service. I got a loaner before when I was 21 for Cush Acura in San Diego.

I think if you buy a car from the dealer you want a loaner from, you have greater leverage. I was 17 when I got my CL-S (ya, ya, I don't want to hear that shit) and have gotten loaners ever since. Of course when they were out of loaners and was about to send me over to Enterprise...I was flat outta luck!

Actually Steven's Creek was really, really good. i had a great service rep...who left. Then had a great manager...who left. Now I only know like 2 service reps there. But they changed the policy...it used to be 21 with proof of insurance and now it's 25. I got a couple of cars from them last time no questions asked. They did put me in a rental car when my tranny went out like 2 weeks ago.

be happy you're still 21! I bought my CLs from them, they kissed my ass up until I left w/ my new car. After that, whenever i went in for service, it seemed like it was a bother for them. Try another dealer, not sure, maybe Acura Pleasanton will get you a loaner.

I looked at the CLS at Stevens Creek Acura. The first look was excellent. No pressure, and the sales guy Dave was great. Went back a week later and test drove one there. This time we got a different sales guy. In short, he was cocky, rude, and kinda condesending. He wanted to spend 45 minutes haggling down $50 on the price of the car. I felt my time being wasted at this point. So we (my wife and I) left....by the time my wife and i returned home after the test drive, no purchase that day cause we wanted to wait til labor day, we saw that they had called our house. The dealer number showed up as two calls made within 30 minutes on our caller ID.
I decided to call around after having gotten a "firm" price of $100 less than invoice from Stevens Creek Acura to see if I could get a better deal.

Went to Edmunds.com and asked for a quote from all the local dealers, and the only one that responded was Acura of Pleasanton. I called the internet sales guy and we did the calcs over the phone, he told me they had an Ageaen Blue on the lot with only 24 miles on it, and we agreed on a price. he said he'd even get me Comptech headers and springs at cost. Later that evening, my wife and I showed up at the dealer, but the internet guy had gone home. So another sales guy, Frank De La Riva, picked us up, and made the purchase a breeze. he never questioned the price I told him the internet sales guy calculated with me. Less than 2 hours later, we were driving off the lot with a freshly detailed '03 CLS auto w/oNavi for ~$27,400.

Long story short, (i know too late), Acura of Pleasaton ROCKED, and Stevens Creek Acura was blah.

Ohh, and the Stevens creeK guy called me 3 times in one day a few days after I bought my CLS. On the 4th call, I was actually home when he called, and he tried to tell me he could go a bit lower on the price, and I told him I bought from A of P for less than he could do, without the hassle I got from Stevens Creek. Fucker hung up on me.

I think it's the same at almost every dealer. It's b/c under 25 ppl are high risk drivers and so the insurance won't cover them if you wreck it.

shit I would love to start a car rental company that allows rentals to people over the age of 20...

Just think how much business I would get from them.!@! I guess they would rag the Shit out of my rental cars but I would make them sign so much paperwork that they were liable for every little scratch, dent, ding and speck of dirt(j/k about the dirt)

I'm supprised there isn't some comapny that is willing to step up and make some bank off underage peeps. I mean not all of them are irresponsible.... ???? RIGHT!!!???

I was pretty damn responsable at the age of 18.....

What a crock of shit. Chevrolet gave me a loaner when I was 18. Acura didn't mention an age limit at all when I got my car and I doubt they would give me trouble with that. They are pretty lax all around.

i gotta add my experience with stevens screek acura. their services are really horrible. i once came in to get the key code for my car because the capital honda dealer charge only 21 bucks to make me a key for my acura if i have my key code since they dont trace key. the honda dealer makes the key by using the key code, but they key has the H instead of the A symbol on it, or its a honda key. the parts guy at acura told me that was not possible to get my key code, and if i ever locked my key in or lost it, i would have to get my car tow to an acura dealer and their technician would use a very expensive electronic tool to scan my car to get the key code. i told them biatch here is my vin, look into your computer and give me my damn key code. well, not in that way, but once i proved to him that i know what i'm talking about he charged me 5 bucks for they key code #, and i complained to acura cs 800#. not sure they do anything, but i never came back there again.

stevens creek acura sux big time

Bought mine from S.C. too. Took it in for the first service and as the tech is taking for a test drive he pulls out and throws it drive (while rolling backwards) and roasts em right in front of me. He probably spun the tires about twenty feet.
Never went back....

At 18 you can vote, have sexual relations w/ a person of your choice, get drafted, yet you can't drink in a pub or get a loaner.

What a country
