Starting the Wave (w/ other CL owners)
Interesting thread over on the TL side of the house.
**Waving**
So. I was wondering who does it or doesn't do it over here. I've tried to acknowledge people in late model Acuras not necessarily Just 2GCL owners. Most have either have no interest in looking over, aren't modded one bit, older people, women who don't look into cars and/or business people. Since my successful experiences have been few and far between, I've stuck with modded cars or just looking to see if they have any interest whatsoever that we're driving similar cars.
What are you guys (and gals) experiences with waving?

I wave or point or whatever....mostof the time get no love in return.....dont know why. People need to be nicer and wave back. Its a way of saying "Hey, nice ride"---share some love people!!

I actually forgot about this...but I saw a heavily modded CL going up towards Rockville once. I caught up to him, rode next to him, kept looking over, sped up a bit, slowed down, looked over again. NO RESPONSE. Finally I got fed up and sped off. Guy never even flinched! I was slightly irritated.

I get a few people who guys around the area with acuras asking what exhaust I have and say it sounds nice, mostly younger guys. Couple other 2nd genners asking if its a 6 spd and I ask the same. then I ask if they're on these forums and most say no?

Funny you mention this. I always try to wave or give a thumbsup or something.
Just last week I was telling Greenie about the guy at the gas station/conv. store. I pulled up to the store to buy a paper and as I pulled up, I notice another 2nd gen parked out front. It was an SMR '03. Looked exactly like Greenie's and not modded. Well, I parked in front of the store too, right across from him. There's no way he could have missed my car when he walked out the door. Anyway, as I'm getting out of the car, he's coming out of the store. Once I knew it was his car, I said.. "hay, man! nice car!". He turned around, looked at me, and then kept walking. No, "hey thanks!, or "same to ya!", not even a word! I was like WTF! I didn't say anything else to the guy as he kept walking. He was an older guy, between 45-50yrs old. I thought damn, what a jerk!

Most of the people with cl's around here are older folks...i have seen some folks and give the head nod....and last time i saw a modded one was on GALLOWS gave the dude a slight nod...and he just looked ova as he passed....
also saw a white cl debaged on rt 66 and he nodded at each other and went on our way....most people who notice their cars will notice mine...but mine is still stock so maybe they think im just another guy.....TL's give me no love....i just try to acknowledge any Acura owner.....aht well....they come and they go....

When I was riding motorcycles, we all waved, all the time. It was the rule!
Not so much with cars. I think a lot of CL drivers don't have a clue - they're just not into it.
The only time I get is from the kids in the teggys and civics who grok J32A2...

most people that have cl's where i live are college girls and have not a care about what the car is. tallycls and i wave when we see each other, but that's it. there are always young ricers that ask if my car has ivtec, or if it's fast?

how handsome I am
If I see a modded CL I'll look over and see if I can get the guys/girls attention.
If they look, I'll nod or give a friendly wave. Usually nod though.
Rarely do I see a modded CL (1st or 2nd gen) down here near my home...

I'm with most of you guys. When I see one it's usually an older man or woman and un-modded. When I see one that's modded, I would usually acknowledge them if I could. There use to be a really clean looking 6 speed with just tint that I saw all the time when I went to get coffee. And the owner was one sweet looking blonde. I acknowledged her all the time.

there is a good number of 2nd gen cls around here (nyc)... one that lives right next to me is a black 03 cls with tints and big chrome rims and a girl drives it...i see her like every other day and i slow down by her and she usually points my car out to her girl friends and then just keeps driving...I think if its not a type-s they dont really give 2 shits about the car and dont care about other cl's. The type-s ppl know their car is fast and like to show of and they usually notice other type-s cl's

I do when I see them. May be once every other month. Usually the only ones I see are Veeral and Shill123. So of course we wave. But it's so few and far between.

There really aren't that many 2nd Gens around here and most of the people that own CL's are older men and I think me and only one other girl in the Sacramento area drive 6-speeds, but when on the rare occasion I see a modded CL and I try to get their attention.

I never see CL's, rairly do I see one. if it is an '03 I try to wave but here in louisiana everyone waves anyway. I think i have the only modded cl in louisiana other than NOLACLS and he has sold his.

Uses turn signals in my
Usually I try to acknowledge 2nd Gen-ers if they seem to have a clue whats going on (some people drive like they don't know they are driving). Just now while I was in the turning lane to go left, a white CL-s comming straight at me in the other direction of traffic stopped in the middle of traffic by me and hit the rev limiter like 4 times waved and took off. I was spacing out because it was a really long light and I had just missed it, so I didnt really do anything back, but I thought that was pretty cool.

As an old fart, I can say that the rule in the '50s, '60s and '70s for sports car owners (mostly British, but some Italian & German cars) always waved when passing each other. That died a long time ago and no one acknowledged each other on the road anymore. It would be nice to start the tradition again. Glad to see some are trying it.
Oh, and by the way, some of us "older" drivers will be happy to wave back.
