What are our standard headers? Are they piped? Cast? Anyone have a pic? - I would look but the body shop is STILL putting my car back together...

Someone (Webtoker?) posted some pictures of the stock headers after they were pulled. Try searching the site. They looked cast to me.

Our stock setup are not true headers, rather a "rough cast" cast iron exhaust manifolds. They create significant backpressure and are taxing on engine respiration. Very few cars are equipped with tubular stainless steel headers because of the egually signinicant cost difference. Also, aftermarket headers do not "make" horsepower, but rather reclaim power inefficiently spent. Hope that helped
