SS Brake Lines/Parking Brake

Just wondering if a SS brake line install is worth it and a DIY project? I have crossdrilled and slotted rotors on all 4 corners and would like SS brake lines for a more responsive feel during spirited driving but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Any advice from those who have it installed?
Also, my parking brake needs to be tightened, is that something I can do as well? I'm painting my calipers soon and would like to take care of as much stuff as possible while I have stuff disassembled.
Thanks in advance,

~Brian

All can be DIY. SS lines will increase brake feel. That's about it. It doesn't actually improve your braking, but you'll get better feedback from your brake pedal.
There's DIY threads on both. Seach the CL FAQ.

IMHO stainless lines are a waste of money on the street.

They are supposed to help. When I had them on before, it was tough for me to say if they helped or not because I changed my calipers at the same time. I would say, just do the rotors and pads for now. The part that sucks about doing the brakelines is bleeding the brakes. That can be a pain in the ass without the better tools.

I think it is a worthwhile mod. After repeated braking your pedeal can get soft b/ the rubber lines expand. The SS lines won't. I put SS lines on my car and noticed a marked improvement over stock. I've since driven the same make and model vehicle and was like WTH? The brake pedal was soft and somewhat mushy even after replacing the brakes (and no the lines didn't need to be bled; that is how it was).

But yes it is a pain to bleed the lines so it's not for everyone.

Thanks for the replies. Bleeding isn't a problem for me, I've done it before. I found the DIY for the SS lines but not for the Parking Brake adjustment. Sounds like something simple and I want to avoid having Acura do it unless necessary. I guess I'll read the manual for steps on how to tighten it.

Hi: You said you've bleed the brakes on your car before, is it a 2003 CLS? If so, could you please be so kind as to tell me how? I've done a lot of DIY on my car including changing rotors, brakes, suspension, so on... But I've always been afraid to bleed the brakes. But since now, my brake indicator light comes on once in a while, I've ordered some SS lines and new pads. So I am going to have to bleed the brakes now and I would like to have some guideline instead of spending hours and possibly doing something wrong.... I would really appreciate it. If you can help, you can just email me to info directly at fridayblues@hotmail.com ... Thanks in advance!!!

plus for me its the satisfaction of looking in there and seeing that sweet line of steel and knowing the system is complete.
