Springs, sways and shocks
Assume that I will be adding comptech sways, and springs:
Are new shocks (Konis) a must-have or is just an added benefit. Does the comptech springs and sways neccesitate having a better shocks than stock?
Thanks.

When I had my springs installed last week, I asked the shop owner if I'd need new shocks soon because I had heard that the stock shocks would wear pretty fast. He said no, because the Type-S shocks were actually heavy-duty enough for the Comptech springs, although they are not adjustable like the Konis are.

If you want better preformance get the Konis. I am planning on getting them in another 10,000 miles or so.

Do yourself a favor and save your cash, buy everything at once and get it installed at the same time. I would definately say to get the Konis. They make a WORLD of difference over the stock shocks. I've got mine cranked up pretty high and it feels great--no more bouncing when you hit a dip. Now it's just compression and recovery from the shocks. If you're going for all of the other goodies I guarantee you will eventually want the Konis too. Makes it a whole different car.

Cost will increase by $557 per 4-set some good chunk of cash... right?

This is the plan springs, sways and shocks, one job, one cost of no more than $1,500
Another side question: I am not that knowledgable about koni shocks:
1) Are they specific to CLS?
2) I hear about yellows, how many kinds of konis do they have?
3) I dig that konis are the best maker of shocks, is that true? should I look for other brand too?
Thanks.

That was the problem and what I was debating about. Gettting Competch Sway, Spring and Koni Shocks or Coilover like Nex or Apexi plus the Comptech Sway. The price are just about the same. Spring/Shock = $854 and Coilover = $870-$899. I choose the Coilover Suspension and probably go withe Apexi with the Sway.

I have the Koni yellows specified by Comptech for the CL-S. I got them with the springs and sways. I used them for a week before I took them off again. Nothing wrong with them - car handled like a Porsche. Ride was just a little stiffer than I wanted.
If you don't mind a week's worth of use, you can have mine for $400.

Nashua,
The Konis are not made specifically for the CL-S, but rather it was intended for the Accord V6; however, you still can use it.
As I recall, the Konis come in Red and Yellow. The yellow is the adjustable one and the red is not. Red is supposedly stiffer than the yellow due to the non-adjustablity. You can also try to look at Bilstein shocks as well, but Konis are very good based on my experience.

So, cost of Sways+ Springs+ Koni Yellows would be 1,400 installed, not bad for me.
Thanks.

You should see the crappy shocks that are on the CL compared to the beautiful, big Koni yellows!
