Springs for some performance + better looks.
Sways for pure performance.
I vote for sways - they won't notice how your car looks when they're behind you on the twisties.

I believe upgrading the sways alone would improve handling more as compare to upgrading the springs (with a drop) alone. However, I personally think upgading both the sways and springs at the same time would be best because the two upgrades compliment each so very well.

considering the springs and sways are the same price, sways is what i would recommend. plus the sways can be done by yourself and the springs require an addition 150. so its more than you think

Depends on what you want. Both give preformance in the same way but different methods. They work VERY well with eachother. Springs you can also see, whereas sways you can't. But with sways, there is no worry of being too low or what not.

I think the car rips the turns now... Everyone that's been in my car says it handles good. My thought it looks and performance may be the way to go. Doesn't that car already have sway bars? I just need to find that shop that will do the install for $100 bucks. So far it's $400-$500. I do know a guy that will do it for $250 at the local Ford dealer. Just not sure I want him ripping out my back seats, and creating rattles...

Yes, the car has sway bars, and the suspension is upgraded from the CL-P. Some magazine-type reviews even have said the Type S suspension is stiff .
Sways help decrease body roll during turns and can also effect the cars understeer or oversteer by front-to-rear suspension stiffening.
I am one who did not think the stock set-up was bad, however there was room for improvement. The Comptech sways add a world of difference. Body roll is much reduced. There is one twisty road near my house that I can take at 50 without getting into roll problems. I used to take it at 35 max before the upgrades. The sways give me more confidence in quick turns. The upgrade is well worth it.
The Comptech sways come as a set (both front and rear). The change in the front is minimal, and some have improved this further by getting the Neuspeed sway for the front. I love my twisties, and I am thinking about this, but probably won't do it for a while.
Sway install is pretty simple, especially if you have the right tools. It shouldn't be more then an hour install for a competant mechanic.

The CL handles well in stock form, but the body roll was still quite a bit too much for my tastes - the car will still turn well, it will just jostle those inside. The Comptech sways are noticeably stronger than the stock sways, and really make turns even more fun - do a search in this forum, you'll get some similar opinions on the benefits of sways. And as mentioned, the install is cheaper, and can be easily done yourself - there's a DIY around here somewhere that was pretty useful.

DIY - do it yourself. There's a DIY guide around here somewhere for the sways, I think on peiquinglong's site. Do a search and you'll likely find it. Other folks have posted DIY guides for a couple other useful installs too.

I just paid Jens/PAA to do it (as well as some other installs) and didn't dirty my precious hands. I cannot say I really like working under the car anyway.

Go for springs 1st. U get the LOOK and u will get some performace handling.
But like all have said, sways u WILL FEEL a whole lot more.
I vote for springs, u almost get the best of both worlds, really a piece of each.

The only thing that sways change is if one wheel goes into a pothole or over a bump, that is a bit more harsh, but not enough that it's a problem.
Any bumps you go over with both front wheels or both back wheels won't change much if at all. That's the beauty of sways - they make a huge change to body roll, since it stops one spring from compressing while the other wants to expand as you go around a turn.

I did sways first and i've always said it's the best mod for the $$ that i've gotten. Springs do make the car look alot better though, so get them both, and while you're at it get some Koni yellows
