springs question

What is the maximum drop I can have w/o changing the shocks on the 03 CL-S? I called the dealer for some prices on the comptech springs and they said it would be 300$ and a week before they arrive. Can someoen give me an idea of what kind of springs I should get w/o changing the shocks?

What he said. You can go with the Comptech Springs or something like the H&R OE or the H&R Sports. The Comptech are probably your best bet.

Is the dealer really the best place to get them though?

That price really isn't that bad... we sell them for $295 shipped, so they're not that far off. Only difference is through them you'll pay tax. It's also usually good to get the install done at the dealer if they're reasonable... that way if anything goes wrong you should be covered.

problem w/ springs is the install usually runs more than the parts cost. Plus you'll want to get an alignment done after they're on just in case.

You should read this first before you buy springs:

Thanks for the help. I am very "informed" now, I will have to take more time and make a decision.

you should also check out the PAA website (Park Ave Acura) - PAA lists their rates for Comptech installs and is very customer oriented/friendly. JENS does a lot of work for people on the forum, and many of us drive (in my case) up to 200 miles to have the work done. To give you an idea, the dealership where I get my regular service done was going to charge by the book - whatever Comptech states on their website the estimated time for install should be is what they went by. For what my dealer wanted to charge me for just the sway install (and I was supplying the sways) PAA did the sways, ICEBOX, the front springs and a 4 wheel alignment for only $20 more.
