Springs

I am considering lowering my car, but i have a few questions. i have a 2k1 CL-S with 140k km on it.

1) do i have to shocks if i get springs
2) i go to school that has a lot of speed bumps, (considering i get a 1.5,1 drop) would i have problems with speed bumps?
3) would 19 inch rims rub? what tires/rim sizes would i need for it not to rub?

Any interuption in the ground (potholes, speedbumps, etc.) I tend to drive slow over anyway. I would say just use a good deal of common sense.

Also, if you drop the car like you're saying, you can get 19X8 rims with 235/35/19 tires and a 45mm offset and never rub. Other members have done so for years.

Hey,

Some advice ...

1) if you've got 140k km, I would strongly advise new springs & shocks at the same time... that way you won't have to pay for labour twice. (ie you find out you need new shocks after you've installed the new springs)

2) speed bumps are a problem if you have too many ppl in the back (considering a 1"-1.5" drop) or are going too fast.

3) rub with 19" -- refer to what niz181 or Red-CL said ...

Hope that helps.

PS Where are you getting the work done? DIY?
