I'm thinking i might get a relatively inexpensive pair of lightweight rims that i can throw some summer tires on, but i'm poor right now so i doubt i could even afford that.

I had my Axis Hagens gun metal powder coated...I will put them on in a couple of weeks. I put them on the 2nd week of March last year and it snowed a week later....35 series tires suck in the snow

Hey ya'll, out here in central Texas we freak out if ice or snow is on the road. It happens about once every 5-10 years. I've only seen the fluffy snow a couple of times here in 40 years. It took me a while to realize people up north have different tires for winter and summer, seems expensive.
1 day after I bought my 6 speed last week we had sleet one day and then ice the next! The city shut down practically. We have about 2 seasons here, maybe 3, but not 4. It's usually averages 45-60 here in the deep winter, with some cold spells down to the 30s-40s. We had 28 degrees last week when it sleeted and iced up some. Driving was not bad but there were accidents all over town, Austin, TX. We don't have the trucks and equipment for icy roads. We do have melting on the roads but it's the asphalt in the summer!

you can mod the Fuck out of that car..it won't effect the warranty. Intakes, exhausts, wheels & tires do not effect warranties. Unless they give "Different" warranties to poeple who live on Dumb Island??!!??
