I was coming back to work from lunch, and spotted what appeared to be a new Max up the road. Dropped it into 2nd gear and switched into "intercept mode". From behind, it looks pretty good.

Cruised up besides it, and tapped the brakes to slow down and pull up even with it to get a good look. Older Chick (MILF'ish) was driving it, and I think she thought I wanted to race After a quick lookover I pulled out in front of it, so I could get a look at the front from my rear view mirror. I like the g35 front end alot better.

It looks ok in person, but I'm not feeling the overall styling. This Max was in a dark blue color, but I think it would probably look better in other colors. Maybe they made the new Max a little "fugly" on purpose so that it wouldn't cut into the G35 sales

This one had regular tags on it (not dealer plates), so I guess the new Maximas are available for sale at a Nissan dealer near you.

 

I've seen 4 at the local dealer lot. I agree the back doesn't look bad, but the rest of the car is butt ugly IMO. The interior is too spartan. Don't know what the focus groups told them, but they really missed the mark.

 

There are a few at the dealer near me. I've only seen one on the road. It was coming in the opposite direction and caught my eye cause i didn't know what it was at first. It drove by pretty quick, but didn't look as bad as i thought it would.

 

i saw the sticker price for one of these the other day, it was like 35,500 something. that is rediculous. the g35 is cheaper than nissan maxima, i think they messed up here, doesnt make any sense.

 

I agree, I check it out at the dealership last weekend when I was test driving a 350Z, it looks just like a G35 sedan.. the sales guy was making fun of the car because the new moon roof they have looks like a tampon.

 

how does the moonroof look like a tampon? Just cause it's long and narrow?? I like the new moonroof, it's different.

 

I think he meant maxipad. Atleast thats what it looks like to me. Plus it is the dumbest idea ever. I took a look at one in person at the dealership. Can't see shit outta it.

 

What? The new max's moonroof is the gayest, dumbest, most unpractical moonroof I have ever seen. It's not even big enough to escape out of if you were somehow traped in the car.

 

I haven't seen the moonroof from the inside, I just thought it was a cool idea.
And if you wanted to escape out of it, you'd have to kick it out first, it doesn't open.

 

A kid in my school has a black one with really dark tint, it looks really nice, the back is pretty ugly though

 

When we saw one going down the road, my wife looked at it and said they should rename it the "Nissan Maxipad". I kind of liked it though but she said she couldn't drive something with "giant vagina" hoovering over her head

 

I dunno, I don't care for the styling. That round, bulbous look makes the car look pregant and it certainly lacks any kind of a steamlined look. I think it's a love it or hate it styling.

 

A friend of mine looked at the new Maxima's and said the same thing about the moonroof...it doesn't open. I guess the ones that open are an option that costs extra. Leave it to Nissan to squeese that extra buck from the consumer.

 

I guess they're really going for that whole "maxi"ma theme.

 

If you get the base model SE it's only about $28K. It's only expensive when you start adding the extras. I priced one out on the website about a week ago. Dealer tells me the stock system has more wattage than the previous models BOSE system...nice.

They also have a regular moonroof if you don't like the 'maxipad'-looking one too.

 

Yeah, The Max and G35 look ok $$ wise until you start adding the options that come included on the Acura CLS for the base price.

Like alot of the reviews of the CLS said, the CLS is a great value.

 

Sunroofs on most cars are optional, at least Nissan gives you the "maxipad sunroof" standard.

 

I've test driven one. Looks way better in darker colors. Torque steer is just ridiculous in this car. It was 33k and not even loaded, I could not believe it.

Road and Track just tested it and says it best.
"Nice family sedan, average sports sedan, awful 4 door sports car".

 

Nissan has gone for the "wow" factor with styling since 1995... used to be the "wow" factor was for performance/handling etc. I'd never buy another because they are heavy and too glitzy for my taste - plus WAY overpriced!

 

yep, if I was shopping for a car in the price range of the new Max, it wouldn't be very high on my list. But they'll probably be offering $3-4000 off in the near future.

 

I also find Nissan products overpriced. 29k for a loaded Altima with the worst interior of any car known to man. No thanks.

Owners are getting owned paying for that VQ.

 

the new Maxipad... i mean uhhh, the new maxiMA is one of those cars which look barely *okay* if u opt for a very dark color like black.... otherwise its very unattractive

 

i think the new maxima is beautiful its a quick it has 18s on the se and the skyview is great especilly for people like me who forget to close the sunroof you get a nice view out of it and dont have to close it ill just open the window

its fuckin ugly as hell. that car is gay as altima is when it came out as well. im not sure why they are going into this redicoulous bubble shape. its really sad to see the original 4 door sports car turned into a egg. my buddy just got one, well ordered one in NY, bought it for 26 grand, and is payin 409 a month for 60 months for the SE with sunroof, not the skyview that doesnt open. comes standard with 18s, whens acura going to do that, hopefully with the new TL coming this fall..

I agree with you all, the new maxima sucks, and i used to own 2 of them before i got my cl-s. now im on my 2nd acura, and who knows how many more of them ILL own.
