SPOILER??

I just bought my first car and I got the 3.2CL-Type S. I am not familiar with buying car add-ons and was just curious on how much would it be to add a spoiler and some tinit on my windows to my car and would I just go to an auto-detailing shop to have it installed. I just didnt want to get ripped off when I go tand pay for it.

The best price I've found for the rear spoiler is $479.20 (plus shipping) from A&H Motorsport. They are OEM, are painted, and include a wiring kit. The dealer install price is around $121.

http://www.ahmotor.com/product/ahmcat3.htm

Window tinting will run you about $120.

Thanks MikeN,
I checked with the dealer when Iwas buying the car and they wanted $669 just for the spoiler itself and another $100 for installation. I'll check out that website, thanks again.

Actually, you can get a spoiler for $247.50
at www.sportwing.com . They matched my paint perfectly and install was easy.

Also the spoiler at sportwing's looks better because it has curves on the bottom (leading into the brake ligt) of the spoiler which gives the car a more sporty look. I got it and the car's back finally looks complete.

I just called the acura dealer and they wanted $680 for the spoiler and the installation, I think I'll just order it likr mishka420 did.
I was kinda suprised that the dealer didnt even offer any mud guards or a spoiler when I bought the car. I was too busy trying to bring down the price.

it was actually pretty easy, it came with all the wiring harnesses and a template of where to drill.

then all you have to do is find a ground (any metal) and attach the other wire to the brake light! It that simple. Took me 2 hours to do it. Could have finished in about an hour if i really would have tried.

i am getting a digital camara towards the end of the week. Then i will post pics so that people will stop getting ripped off by acura.

When the dealer told me $650+install, i laughed in his face and told him he is full of shit. I am much happier with the one i have now!

How is the paint job on the sportwing spoiler? does it look like it will hold up over time?

From the complaints on this board about the paint, I doubt the spoiler could be any worse.

I paid $560 for the spoiler from the dealer (installed). I guess it was so cheap because they don't have much demand for the gold. It's funny because the rip-off guy (slaesman) tried to get me to pay $900 ("I'm giving you a deal") when I bought the car - I'm glad that I waited. I only have the back 3 windows tinted and it was $150 and worth every penny when a SUV comes from behind!

Yah, I was just curious about the tiniting stuff because since I live in the south, those black leather seats will get warm!!!

Actually the black leather DOESN'T get overly warm. Something to do with our glass already having something which cuts down on excess heat buildup. I distantly remember the glass being "green".
