Split up the Forums more ???

Does anyone else think that maybe the “CAR TALK” area should be split into more then one section?
I come here several times a day and I’m seeing topics quickly fall to page 2 or 3 in a matter of hours.
I’m typing this at 2PM and I see that topics from 11PM last night are already on PAGE 3.

Some “section” suggestions:

Wheels, Tires & Suspension
Aftermarket Mod Installs
Anyone having this Problem
New Car release info
Help a Newbie

Is this a good idea or has Shawn been sniffing the ZAINO too much lately?

i dont know about 5 sections, but 2 or 3 wouldnt be bad. a CL section, and then an all other cars section, maybe one more.

this is definately a good idea...ive been thinking about this for some time...check out the CLUBRSX boards for some examples..they have their forums split up into TONS of things...personally, i think their forums are a bit TOO split up, but something similar would be nice here for sure.

we have spoken among ourselves about this a few times...
we didn't want the board to become to cluttered with forums, which could make it more imposing to new members...
Maybe it is the way to go now, or perhaps in a couple of months, once the new server is implemented and running for a few weeks...

sugggestions on forums in here, and then I'll start a poll thread perhaps...

No. Because you'll have multiple posts and it's apain in the ass to keep looking at seperate forums for every little thing. A-tl.com has it and i can't stand it.

I think your sniffing

It gets annoying to have many topics. IMO.
It will take my small brain some time to decide which forum to post in.

It will also be tougher to manage and keep track of PWs.

Agreed! look at http://www.i-club.com/forums There isn't any continuity and it doesn't make the forum feel like a family. A-Cl has that homey feeling Keep it this way please!

Second Gen CL Talk
First Gen CL Talk <- already have this

I agree. Too much of a pain in the ass to check 2 or 3 different forums as well as ramblings.....

My vote is NO !!

Agreed. Too many forums = One extra would be tolerated. That is it.

I think Wheels and Tires would be a good addition since those topics come up sooo much. I think we can all agree that one more topic on offsets or rubbing may set someone off. Plus, anyone who was looking for an answer on stuff like offsets, etc. would have a single forum to search and post in. Other then that I don't think you'll see any other breakouts.....

I just suggested a few possible headings, I didn’t imply to use them ALL.
I like some of the suggestions given so far.

How about just doing this:
Gen I CL Car Talk
Gen II CL/TL Car Talk
Other Car Talk
Gen II Suspension, Wheels & Tires

I don’t know if the Gen I people would want a specific Heading for their Suspension Mods talk.

I added TL to the Gen II area because you know there are going to be a lot of people coming over here because of the issues over on Tim’s site.

667 users online at once was their max.
quite impressive membership: 14k users

i bet it's because of the international appeal of the imprezza.

I like that concept shawn, but we would probably need to change up the name a little, it sounds a little confusing (I don't like Gen I, Gen II, etc.).
