Spin-Caps

I've had my SSR GT3 wheels for about a week now and I just noticed today that one of my wheel valve caps is missing! PISSES ME OFF!!

I know I had the full set and couldn't have lost one, so some asshole probably decided to help himself...so I'm thinking of getting a set on these
spin-caps.

Do these really work and has anyone purchased from this place before?

I have 'em on my VW, one of the best buys since I caught some punk kid trying to flatten my tire in a Target parking lot. I put a military boot in his ass b/c he didn't even see me coming. Next to wheel locks, this is the next best thing for wheel security.

I had them on my car and the wife’s RAV4 and they constantly leaked air.
I sent the company many E-Mails and several phone calls and they refused to refund my money because it was after the return time allowance.

the cap doesn't hold in the air. the valve core does.

Yes, but if you have even the slightest leak from the stem valve it comes right out through the cap if improperly designed.
The ones they sell now have O-Ring GASKETS.....mine didn’t.
I pointed this out to them and wanted mine exchanged and they told me to go pound sand.
They wouldn’t even send me a pack of eight gaskets.

BAD COMPANY with customer service like that and I couldn’t recommend them to anyone.

If you have a bad valve core (like I did) it does. I was too lazy to change my valve core so I just made sure my caps were on tight enough to hold in air. It worked fine until somebody stole my valve caps.

I had my SSR valve stem caps stolen too. Kids supposedly like to steal them to put on their bicycles.

I got the spin-caps to prevent further theft.

As Shawn mentioned, the metal ones don't come with the o-rings.

The ones with the Delrin (plastic) core do come with o-rings.

I use them, but personally I like the look better of el-cheapo aluminum ones that I bought from autozone. They do have o-rings. They only cost a few $$ and I bought a couple sets so if they get stolen I won't care.

If you check the website you’ll see that they ALL come with O-Rings now.
That’s what I was bitching about.
Obviously they’ve realized there’s a problem and fixed it, but they are unwilling to correct the previously sold ones.

I didn't realize they changed it and fixed that issue.

as cut and pasted from the Spin-Caps website
Spin-Caps® now include an O-Ring in each cap for an airtight seal
Maybe I'll shoot them an email and see if I can get some o-rings. Getting some bad customer service will put me in such a fine mood...

I've had a set for a year. No air leak problems, but there were hard to get off after being on a while, my dealer applied some silicone or graphite to them.

See link in top of thread.

Griot's sells a version that's overpriced with a logo.

I think the logo on the valve stem cap would look goofy. I prefer a low key look that matches the metal/color of the rim.

Oh. Lookie there, that's new...
from http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....2540&SKU=92545
Due to manufacturers' requests, the following logos are no longer available: Acura, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Honda, Hummer, H2, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Volkswagen.
I guess the manufacturers thought they looked stupid too!
