Speaker replacement
Speaker replacement
Has anybody replaced just the factory speakers?
I don't want to add amplifiers or change the receiver.
I heard somewhere that the factory speakers run on some wierd ohm specification and installing aftermarket speakers can damage the receiver.
Is this true?

The factory speakes are 1 ohm load. replacing with an aftermarket which is typicall 4 ohms will cut the power output of the amp in half twice or drop by about 6 DB.
My 1998 was upgraded and I will do the same for the CL I used the factory speakers but with MAJOR equalization with a 1/3 octave EQ and spectrum analyzer (for initial calibration---not a for light show), added power and sub with phuckin fenomenal performance. Remember, without equalization and Subs...NO HISE NO LOSE---MUST BE BOSE!!!
