Spanked by S4

Raced an s4 avant (v6 bi-turbo). From 40-100, he had me by 3 car lenths. Then we came up to a light and raced from a stop. I felt as though I was not moving as he put 2 car lenths on me before 30 mph. Gate shifted through both races and bounced of the limiter in first once during the second race.
Those cars are fast, too bad the turbos need to be rebuilt at 50k.

They really are fast cars. Walked past an S6 today at a light. Such a nice car and the interior looked sick with the dash and buttons all lit up. Had him by about 1, maybe 2 lengths then the light changed and he was gone.

We don't have to rebuild our turbos at 50k. Who told you that? Granted, many modded cars have had a turbo let go (some stock too)......but there are a lot that are still going strong well past 50k also. I know atleast 3 guys w/ over 100k miles on their original turbos w/ modified cars. One guy in particular didn't even do the routine service on his S4....just crazy. The key to keeping the car intact is keeping the hoses in check. Bad boost leaks will do the small K03s in.

Throw an SC on your car or some juice and I'm sure you will show a few S4s your tailights. Hey, it's the fun of the game. Just never know what you'll run into.

I spoke to a kid at school who owns an s4 and is a fanatic, he said that a lot of s4's have problems with turbos when they hit 50k and higher. Also, my friend was looking into buying an s4 last year but encountered many stories about problems with the turbos around that mileage. He ended buying s2k.

If it had 400hp and less weight.......I would be all over it. It's a better car in stock form than my car (B5) in stock form....but then again.....who's stays stock?

Kinda like assasin said it has to do more with the hoses. The pre-2002 S4s had a turbo hose issue, which was causing the stockers to blow prematurely. I think as long as those hoses were replaced and people "took care" of the turbos then they can probably last much longer than 50k miles...personally that would be my excuse for getting bigger turbos!
