Sorry, Texas CL Type S owners....

But you just became slightly less unique last night when I picked up my brand new red/parchment/navi/no-spoiler Type S
!!!

After months of lurking I'm very happy to have my CL and be able to report it to y'all. Needless to say, I've been taking every possible opportunity to drive it over the last 20 hours and am in HEAVEN!

Also, I'd like to sincerely thank everyone on this board for all the info, tips, warnings and advice. Thanks to all of you, I knew exactly what to check for in my testdrive(s) (new cupholders ) and what to be prepared for from the car. Hopefully, as I get to learn more about my baby I'll be able to return the favor and post some tips of my own.

For all you Austin CLs out there, you can look for me on the shoulder of 360, grinning up at some cop!

The funny thing is that both my car lease and house lease were up at the same time, so I was about to find myself carless and homeless.

But now I have my CLS and I'm moved into the room I'm renting in a house near the end of old spicewood springs road (a mile or so from 183 / McNeil).

Nice road for your new CL!! Not far from you at all, off of Greystone and Mesa. Keep an eye out for me... this is what I look like:

www.john-michelle.com/cl.htm

May I recommend a drive? Lost Creek Blvd, all the way to Barton Creek Blvd then take Barton Creek to Bee Caves. Quite fun... though sometimes you have to go at 2 am to get away from the traffic!

Any suggestions of your own?

Bee Caves. Good call, I'll have to hit that this weekend (great timing for me...new CL and a long weekend to break 'er in).

My first thought was that I finally have to tame 2222, in between 360 and Mopac. I was driving an Explorer before, so you can imagine that I'm quite excited by the small improvement in performance and handling that the CL provides!

Hey, you said you live right by 183/McNeil? I'm pretty close (Arboreatum)
A road I usually reserve for my bike but is gorgeous and twisty is from McNeil to 360 via Spicewood Springs.

Hey John, like your rims...

Oh yeah, and watch out for a bike cop that's been lurking around that last bend on 2222 right before you hit Mesa going towards MoPac...(Got me once already)

Thanks Aeon... I'm usually pretty careful on 2222, but occasionally (like last night!!) I let it scream a little. I like to hear the rubber screech around those corners!! I've noticed the motorcycle cops around with lasers a lot lately, doesn't that take the fun out of the game?

What color is your CL?

Another suggestion is Westlake Drive... hilly and twisty.

Cool, I have a twin!

You guys probably won't see me much. My Eclipse is the car I drive to work everyday.

I've only had a chance to drive the CL four times since I bought it three weeks ago!

I've spent more time putting zaino on it than driving it.
