its been at least a month or 2 since anyone has mentioned the prototype headers....are they cancelled?? or what?? i thought there was that big test fit deal going on and everything was cool??? then it jsut got dead silent....anyone hear anything?

Well, they did a test fit & DYNO on a V6 accord, but the horsepower results were questionable because they used a car with lots of other mods.
The car also had an aftermarket CAT on it that was found to be undersized.
They did 1/4 mile runs and the car was faster with the Comptech’s installed.

There was also a test fit done on a 6-Speed CL-S that I helped put together and they don’t fit the car.
They can’t be made to fit the manual Tranny without a MAJOR redesign that I dought will ever happen.

After learning this I said SCREW IT and bought the Comptech’s !!!!

Other then that I don’t know.

hmmm, well, my CL-S is auto, and i need some friggin headers....if there isnt too much more of a wait, id be willing to hold out for the prototype...given that the price is reasonable and the gains are as good or better than the comptech....

 

Dean was selling the Comptech’s for 999-shipped.
Now they’re up to 1075 shipped.

Joe at Prototype told me the price point for the targeted September release was going to be 1000-dollars.
So unless there is a BIG increase in overall Horsepower or a curve that starts at LOWER RPM’s there is no reason to wait.

Factor that with the promises that Prototype has been breaking for almost TWO YEARS now, I said the HELL with them.

september is knocking on our door right now so ill wait until then and see if any announcement is made...anyone been in personal contact with anyone over at prototype?? could someone call them and get an update??

 

He is selling the tooling to the guy who was interested in the V6 dyno... No new news.

 

jesus, looks like another year or 2 delay....how much are those comptechs again???
