Something is sliding under the center console!
I have this wierd rattle, something big is sliding and traveling like 1-ft undder the center console and shifting gear box area. It is driving me crazy. Each time I stop on a downhill it will slide forward, each time I go up a hill, it slides back. I removed the rear console and nothing is there.
Is there a big cavity under that area?
Anyone had similar problem?
Thanks.

I prefer to let an Acura Dealer solve this problem, but I am glad to hear that I am not the only one with this problem...
Anyways removing the rear console is very easy.
1) Open the rear console
2) You can pop up the 2 plastic trim on each side.
3) There are 2 screws under the pastic trims to unscrew
4) down in the center console there are 2 more screws to unscrew.
That is it!

I had a similar problem but not exactly in the center console. It was in the area under the receiver.
What happened was that some coins had spilled out from the coin pocket and made it down to the metal part that holds the center console. Every time I turned or hit the brakes they would make a sound.
I removed the plastic lid that covers the ECU connector as well as the seat heater switches. Had to put double-sided scotch tape on a screwdriver to reach the coins. It was a pain.

Finally we did it!
We found what was the source of the weird rattle....
My wife and I decided to solve the problem.
First, She pulled my Leatherman Wave tool from my belt and started ripping my CLS into pieces
Even she did not need the service manual.
1) She poped up the side plastic trims of the center console
2) Unsrewed the rear console and it's gone
3) Now shes asked me to race my CLS forward and brake hard, do the same in revere
4) She immediately noticed that sliding and rattling sound is coming from the right side of the front console
5) She decided to remove the right side panel, 3 screws and the right side panel was tossed on the rear seats...
6) We repeated Step 3 and she immediate noticed that the rattling is comimg from a duct like tube partially hidden under the carpet.
7) The carpet was ripped like the others in 30 seconds...
8) Now we are sure the source of the rattle but what the hack is that tube like pocket that goes down and back.
9) I immediatle started browsing the HEMLS man for clues. And, since I was not able to identify the pocket, I suggested that It could be the Vent ducts for the rear seats.
10) I grabed the user manual and we confirmed that it is indeed the venting ducts to the rear seats
11) Now we are sure what it is. However, what is inside that freaking tube?
12) My wife asked to repeat the Step 3 (rocking the car forward and backward hard). And stuck here hand in rear end of the Venting tube. I drove backward hard and braked hard.... and wife screams, I found it, I can feel it. So I tried again rocking the car hard and my wife says I got, I got, yes yes yes
What was it? A huge black screw 1" long, 1/2" in diameter, with 1" washer that was stuck in the venting duct.
Why it was there? I dont know, I guess when the car was assembled, a novice auto worker dropped that screw in the A/C system and he did even bother to remove it!
What a stupid bad ass, sloppy worker!
I am very happy that we were able to remove it easily, I do not want think of removing that freaking tube, which amounts to ripping off all the interior parts, front seat, etc.
I am very happy too, that we able to do all this in less than 1hr.
That parts were put back in their place in couple minutes
