SOMEONE help PLease got a problem

SOMEONE help PLease got a problem

ok so my passenger side headlight wont work. i checked the fuse and its blown. so i took it out and put a new fuse in and instantly when i turned the lights on it blew. i tried looking at the headlight and everything then tried one more fuse and gone instantly too... anyone ever had this problem. i had a friend said somethign like its the exciter box or something like that im not really sure. someone please help i need to drive my car at night.

Blown ballast. I have one right now too I'm waiting on the parts. I'm going to try to fix it myself but you have to take off the front bumper cover to get under the light. My estimate to have it done at the Smacura dealer was nearly 900 bucks. Good luck!

damn so what is a blown ballast? i dont want to take it to acura i want to try and fix it? could you explain a little more

It's a very easy self fix but you will need to remove the bumper cover. This is also very easy to do. Use Comptech's easy to follow bumper removal step from the Icebox install manual. Step # 2: http://www.comptechusa.com/store/med..._auto_2005.pdf


The Ballast is mounted to the bottom of the headlight housing.

EDIT: The ballast (or invertor as it may be called) is the same type of power converter that a flourescent light uses.

ok so your talking about the HID box the metal one. ive taken my bumper down plenty of times for my other head light got water in it and had to replace the HID box on that headlight.

The ballast is whats attached to the bottom of the housing. Little, silver, metal box.

ok so im almost 100% sure its the ballast and i took it out and am ordering a new one now. but i was just wondering is there anyway to fix it yourself b/c i think they fill the whole inside of the box with sealer?
