Some updates + other question

Thought I'd kill two bird with one stone so here goes.

As I mentioned before, after putting on my springs, I had a nice clunking sound. I figured it was a loose sway bar end, not a bad strut. I got under it on Saturday and sure enough, one of the sway bar ends were so loose, I'm surprised it was still on there! Tightend it up, went for a drive, no more clunk!

As for the alignment issue I had, I took eveyones advise and swapped sides with the front tires. It worked for the most part. Now, if and when it does pull to one side, it does in the opposite direction. Not nearley as bad though and I don't think it's the car or tires. I think it's the various conditions of road surfaces thats causing it. I do notice since I swapped sides of the front tires, the steering is heavier. Normal? I don't know how much I actually care anymore!!

Lastly, this is in front of the rear axle

What's it for? Is it good, bad, insignificant? Thanks!

Chris

Thats a resonator, it is used to decrease the noise in exhaust systems as well as increase back pressure. Just think of it as a small muffler...

What type of tires do you have? If they were messed up because of the alignment issue, then it may affect the way the stearing feels until it wears a bit more evenly.

If it now pulls to the side you swapped the tire then it is that tire/rim. Get it checked by a hunter DSP9000. That machine can check for a bent rim, or defective tire.
If the alighment was messed up & it wore that tire more then the rest that could also create a pull, & strange steering feedback.
Might be a dumb question but have you made sure the tire pressure in the tires are the same?

I check the tire pressure constantly, it is perfect. I will drive it awhile longer like it is and if I feel there is a problem then I will get it checked by the DSP9000. I really don't think the wheel/s are bent but then again, anything is possible.
