Is there a guide to do this or is it pretty easy?

Really? I'm finding myself wondering if you're asking something more complicated... To remove the DVD, you open the trunk, flip down the cover piece on the DVD player, and hit the eject button....... With all due respect, is this really what you're asking?

I did find out that when you remove the dvd-rom, on-screen AC controls go bye-bye
