Dyno

The article quotes "at the wheels HP" of 419 - but, the dyno said "Flywheel HP" ...which is it? I imagine it's at the fly, becuase if it's at the wheels that would mean the engine is putting out around 500 HP!!!

the dyno is at the wheels.

with the additional injector and 8 psi allmotor should be putting down ~ 475whp.

It's wheel horsepower. There is a discrepancy between a dynojet vs. dynapack which can be anywhere from 10-20whp, but other than that.... its WHP. I don't know why it says flywheel. In any case, I didn't take the engine out of the car... take out the tranny and then dyno it

What is your opinion of the Turbonetics T66?

Ram... if you need a picture or ten taken of the beauty, let me know... I'll bring my digi cam and we'll do a shoot.

Can't wait for more coverage on this awesome turbo kit.

First, I have to give you guys mad props! Installing a turbo, especially when there isn't a kit readily available for a car is a huge feat! And to get it done as perfect as you have should be inspiration to all of us to do the same to our CLs. On that note, let me ask you a question... what did you use as a manifold? I read the article, but it is unlcear to me if those parts were fabricated or cut and welded from the Comptech headers? Is this true? I am in the process of mimicking your setup and haven't built a turbo kit since college when I built one for my Integra, and I was able to buy a commecial manifold. I have a feeling this won't be as easy and am looking for some guidance. Any wisdom you can impart on me would be much appreciated. Again, congrats on such a great project!!

I used the Comptech Manifold (the 3:1 collector for the front and rear). Everything else is custom. It's a tight fit... so its a tough thing to do. There is no cutting or welding of the Comptech header... that can be re-used if going back to NA.

That's too cool seeing you guys in the article like that. I'm sure that there was hard work involved in doing that and risks as well.

Excellent work! Just try to keep the PR to a minimum, I don't want my CL-S to be the main attracion in the next "Fast -N- Furious" movie....OK?

Pshaw... I hope allmotor_2000 & BlueCLS6 get not only the credit they deserve but also, I hope some big mags check out their Ferrari-beaters and hand em over some compensation for all their time and work. Nothin better than getting some money to do what you like.

I've said it too many times, but... awesome stuff, guys.

That's pretty badass Ram.....time to get some slicks and run it once down the track....
Only once, cuz after you rip off that 11 sec. 1/4, they'll boot you off for no cage...

So guys, is Garrett or someone going to produce kits for our cars??? If not, can someone give me the list of parts needed for this turbo conversion.

We'll make a few one-off kits selectively.

Hey ALLmotor or BLueCL any plans to add an Oil catch can? Can one be easily added to the application?

Congrats to you both!

The oil catch is unnecessary at this time because the motor doesn't have too much blow-by (well... none as far as right now). It could develop this as it gets older and maybe we need an oil-catch can. Usually for very high-boost/high-rpm applications, it is necessary. I just run it back into the trubo for now so that if it does blow-oil... I'll know!
