alpha werks dyno

ok everyone,

i just came back from a the dyno shop and the results are in. sorry for the crappy picture, i had to scan it. acouple things to remember.

1. these are SAE corrected
2. both runs were done with 19's on
3. both runs were done with the engine at operating temp to simulate normal driving conditions
4. car has 92,000+ miles
5. both were 3rd gear pulls
6. the gains are from AEM CAI, UR pulleys, and AW headers

blue - stock
red - AEM CAI, UR pulleys, AW Headers

hp gains 227-197 = 30 whp
tq gains 192-175 = 17 lb/ft

notice the low, mid, and high rpm gains. there very smooth compare to the baseline pull.

assuming the pulleys and intake gain 10 to 15whp, then Aw headers are doing it's job providing 15 to 20whp for a total of 30whp. getting AW headers for $300 shipped to my door, it's a bargain.

also i calculated the drivetrain loss from the baseline pull is equal to 24%. using this percentage i calculate that my car is producing around 314 flywheel hp. which means flywheel gains with three mods are 54hp. that's pretty impressive.

Sweet!

How much HP should a CL-P see from these headers? 15-20hp?

i think the #'s would've been different with lighter wheels. but these are similar #s to ct headers IMO

Real nice numbers. I think you've found a worthy replacement for the Comptech's.

on ebay i got them for $300, but there hard to come by. you might have to wait awhile to spot them. search for 98-02 accord v6 header, that's what i have on my car.

That is quite impressive considering you don't have a flywheel

Automatic transmission. Horesepower is rated at the crank.

I could be wrong though... but I'm pretty sure.

Nice numbers. I just got the alphawerks headers on my TL-P not to long ago and bought them of a local guy doing a group buy for $300. They are definitly the bang for the buck. I don't have the money to do a before and after dyno. So I'm just going to wait to put my NO2 wet system in before I run it.

auto or manual both have flywheels

and even when i took my old car to the dyno which was manual they give u WHP, since the only way u can really get flywheel HP is by dynoing the engine itself without the tranny

Do you get any kind of resonance or weird noises with the AW headers like the other brands have been reported to do ?

I assume they have no 6 speed version correct?

AW headers + Icebox + Unothordox Pulley would be 250whp/220wtq on a 6 speed, and all for about the same price as a set of CT headers.

i am in the process of ordering, do the welds look better than obx? fitment is perfect i hear, and stock gaskets i should be using, and the alpha werks emblem should be on the rear of the header.

Well I figured $400 for the headers cuz the intro pricing is done with and you know ppl on here are gonna have it installed by someone else, so theres a couple hundred bucks. Either way still a much better $$ : hp gain than the CT's.

no noise what so ever. the only thing that got louder was the intake, but that's a good thing.

looks exactly like the comptech headers from what my friend (acura tech) said. welds look good. there was no fitment issue and i used the stock gasket. yes, the emblem faces the rear of the car.

This is awesome, a dream come true, those 19's hold the dyno back a lot, i think the alpha werks perform just as well as the comptechs 25 hp 20 torque, and since no one has had trouble with fitment and the welds look good its awesome, especially the price!

I did hear that the honda accord 98-02 v6 alpha werks headers fit the same on the cl, is that true, so its the exact part as the cl type s header made by alpha werks?

anyone know if these alpha werks headers come with any warranty if purchased from nexus themselves, because I am getting some tomorrow for a good price, but I dont think any warranty comes with it.

any resonance with the AW headers? Are they smoother than the OBX's?

So would total HP become 290HP in bigguyonbike's case?

I just got my alphawerks headers in today. I can't wait to install them.

How hard is it to install these headers? Does the alphawerks plate go in the front or the back?

Thanks
