Well I never posted that I sold my 01 CLS because, I just had not let go of it emotionally yet. I bought that Car in 02 and never regreted it one bit. Even thru 3 trannys. I getting a New model TL soon. Heres the deal.

Sold my 01 CLS with mods about 4 weeks ago. 1st guy came to look at it with his son and promised to buy 5 days later. Even said " I know I'm leaving it out there if someone else comes along and buys, but if that happens, it was not meant to be ". 2 days later I hear nothing from him, so I call him. He says oh yeah I want it but puts me off for another 5 days. Another Kid calls and ask to see it. Says can we meet. So I meet him he falls in Love with it but, a short a little cash to buy. I tell him best I will sell for is $ 10K. Next day he says I think I got $10k can I come get it.
This is 2 days before the 1st guy is suppose to come up with money who beat me up on price at $ 9500.
I call 1st guy and say hey, someone else wants to buy for $500 more and he starts whinning and bitching about we had a deal and that his son would be so disappointed and so on and so on. Says I suck we made a deal. When he gets thru I ask him what is offer is and he says ok I'll pay the same $ 10K. I say this is crazy, you jerked me around waiting, gave me $ 0 money and now made a air promise to buy at same amount. He gets pissed hangs up phone and calls back 3 mins later. I do not answer his call.

So kid comes that day gives me $10K cash and I give him my 01 CLS. Kid is happy as hell, I had car detailed, explained to him about mods and he drives away.

Now I'm missing that car because I have 2 other cars, but if I'm making a trip some where out of town, the car is my go to car. Never put me down, not one time ever !

He come by my house a couple of times with the CLS to ask questions, I see it again all clean and miss it again.

Monday he calls and says, guess what. Hes parked at a friends house 2am, someone comes along and clips it in the back at 40 mph. I see the car and its crushed on the left side BAD !

He takes it to Acura dealers and today Insurance company says it " Totaled "

I guess it just did not want to part with me either. 01 CLS " RIP "

 

i guess you could say it "committed suicide", haha.

I thought you ahd sold it and the CL died on him. Oh well, get a 6 speed and join the club again! what are your plans for another car?

 

Hey great story. I parted with my LS400 when i bought CLS and I know the filling. But CLS has definitely been a faster and sportier car for me. Wait till you buy a new TL and then shortly after fall in love with that one and all forget about ur old CLS. Love for a car is great until its replaces with a better one. Oh yea one more thing your car you could buy it back either from the auction or the insurance for dirt cheap. Pennies on the dolor. Fix it your self and there you got your cls back. If you don’t some kid will and the Legend will live on.

 

I love my CL too much...I couldn't part with it even when I got in my accident. I'm pretty sure my insurance adjuster marked it up so I could get it back they way it was meant to be.

EDIT: Get another CL BTW...keep it in the family.

Never fun seeing something you once loved all smashed. Kind of like running into an ex-girlfriend who's hammered at a bar and all over some random dude. At least you can move on now.

 

It had 125K miles on it. Was not one thing wrong with it. It was Black with Black Leather. Took me 2 1/2 months to find the right one in 2002.

Guess I'll just hang around the Board here more. I am am member of 3 other forums. I love this forum the most. More talking crap, arguments, smart ass comments. I die from humor when I read and post here.

Lord Helmet what's up Dude ? That Weapon R intake thread was the funniest thread ever, now that I look back at it, its funny that we went at it, about a Intake, that neither one of us used. Then someone used my ID, change the post like they were me posting, and then reported it on top of it. I was like WTF ! You guys got me on that one. But I guess I asked for it, because I was dishing it out to ! LOL !

Looking for a 04-06 TL, Black/Black w/ Navi, auto. I drove the 6 speed, Torque streer drove me crazy. Going to C/T Super charge it with some cams, so it can Breathe up top !

Thought about a NSX, but I could not and would not want to drive it that much.

I've owned Acura's from 1991, my favorite one was a 95 Acura Ledgen LS coupe, Blk/Blk, 6 speed, with a 75 shot Zex kit. Someone stole it. RIP Acura # 1.

Damn, 10K for 125K miles on it. Must have been a pretty looking car, that gives me hope that I might be able to get 10 or 11K for mine. Good luck on the new car shopping.

Think of it this way...

People always say that when it's your time to die, one way or another you will die!

So, maybe it was the time your CL was supossed to die...

At least you got $10k for it and it didn't happen when you owned it!

Maybe you would have got more money for it if you did own it. Maybe you could have sold the mods, but at least you don't have to wait on the insurance company or buyers this way!

Sorry for your loss, but at least it was no longer your loss. I think that makes sence...
