Sohc?

hmmm y is the cl/tl SOHC instead of DOHC? and are there any advantage between those two? thx in advace

Our TL's are SOHC.
THe only real disadvantage is in tuning for racing applications.

If you made our engines DOHC then they would be just like the NSX engine with 290 bhp.

sohc only has single stage vtec on the intake side
dohc has dual stage vtec on the intake and the exhaust side which would be better for performance mods and tuning, I think and acura is not going to put there flagship engine in a family car, like the nsx engine which is dohc vtec

SOHC is a single cam driving both intake and exhaust values (SINGLE OVER HEAD CAM) .. DOHC is two cams driving all the valves (DUAL OVER HEAD CAM). SOHC heads are less complicated and cheaper to produce on V engines. Honda achieved the desired horsepower using displacement and other technologies without the added expense of a more complicated valve train.
