You'd be better off finding a used 6spd CLS.

Guys, I don't think we've driven the point home yet...

What this thread really needs is... oh, I don't know, another sign?

It would be an ENORMOUS waste of time and money, but I've seen stranger things done. kid around here payed thousands upon thousands to have a 4dr 95 civic converted to 5spd .. would've been cheaper to buy a 95 civic 5spd.

Wheres that guy that just recently ripped out his whole interior to install the Honda navigation? I could see him taking on a mod like this .... takes that pure ambition and motivation which I dont have

civic tranny swaps are cake Your buddy got seriously ripped off if he spent more then 1500 to do this.

I'm planning on doing it on my first gen so I don't have much a choice, and it's already been done so I know exactly what I need, etc.

I'm even thinking of dropping in a k24 w/ k20 head instead of doing this swap (or a h22). My tranny is on it's last life, if it goes soon i'm gonna do something fun.

once upon a time i thought some CL owners with dead ATs were offered the choice of having the AT replaced w/ a 6-speed by acura. i thought it was a no-cost swap as a customer satisfaction offer by acura. this only applied to autos which failed under warranty. and probably while the rebuilt units were in short supply.

if your trans has failed (again!) and you're facing a replacement by acura anyway it may be worth checking out. if you're choosing to replace the trans at your cost its NOT worth it. assuming you still want a CL replace the car w/ a used 6-speed instead.
