So who’s trading for a 6-Speed ???
OK, if/when it comes out, who is going to take it up the sphincter like me and trade-in or sell their 2001 ?
Just curious.
Those of you who LOVE their SHUSH SHIFT “I don’t know what gear I want” auto, need not respond.

Depends on gearings and other changes that separate the 6 speed CL from the current one, but very tempted to take a loss at trade in for that 6 speed

I'll be the first one to get a test drive. Whether or not I do it depends on finances. Like I said in an earlier post, I might give them a year to fix any bugs. Hopefully by then my 2001 will be paid off and I'll have a little cash in the bank. But I would get a manual even if it was a 5 speed with the same exact ratios as ours. I just don't like torque converters.

I will definately weigh my options. I would be willing to take a $2000 loss for the trade. I think the manual should sell for less than the auto, so the only thing that s/b a factor is the depreciation, right? We'll see soon enough

CL's aren't exactly flying off the lot and manuals never sell as well as autos. Maybe I'll wait for a few to stack up on the lot, then walk in at the end of the month and rob some hungry salesman.

Sorry to break the news but no Legend is
RWD with the stock transmission. My first

like your CL. The second generation have
the longitudally mounted engines.
If the 2002 CL has a 6 speed, I'm there

it will heavily depend on my portfolio (and Uncle Alan G).
i will most certainly test drive it to see how it "feels." i don't care much about numbers. i go for how the car feels.

I'm betting it will feel like a totally different car. My old car was a manual Integra. My friend has almost the same exact car, but an auto. His car felt 500 pounds heavier and 50HP under powered.

Same as some posts above, I would be ditching out of a lease 2 years early....under mileage, I have early termed most of my car leases. It will depend on how much I'm in for (obviously)....I won't take a $5k loss on a $29k car, maybe $2500- we shall see.
#23
Even if I broke even on the sale of my current CL-S (yeah, right) I'd still have to pay sales tax again. $30,000 X 7.5% is $2250. Ouch.

If the car is faster, happy trails. My car already is scary fast -- so I'm quite happy with my slushbox.
I would like a 6-speed sequential or at least a revised set of 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear ratios for the auto.
The area I'm in requires me to sneak out at 2-4AM in the morning to be able to "enjoy" a manual. I love the fun of a manual, but I just never got to enjoy it around my area. If someone lives in Montana, I'm sure they will have a lot of fun.

I'm with Fred. I can't afford it. Until I get my MCSE, which I have to start getting my arse in gear for.... Even then It'll be a year before I have a better job. But rightnow I have to save... I have a special girl in my life and right now she's more important than any car (even an M3). So the CL-S will be with me for the next five or six years if things stay the way they are. Of course we could have a recession... Then I park the CL and get a four banger Escort for $1.

i would consider if...
1. the shifts are small, quick, and aggressive
2. gear ratios are near perfect, like the new VW Golf
3. 2 thumbs up from reviewers like Autoweek, Motorvision. Motor Trend, and C&D

Getting your MCSE doesn't mean you will be making alot of loot. just gets u in the door faster. I've seen to many 'paper MCSE's'
Me being one, I get very mad and very ashamed of them. Once u do get yo mcse hope you know yo shit.
I personally got my mcse in 8 weeks. Got the books, studied at home, been doing computers since 3rd grade, approx. 12 years +. so it was a piece of cake, just exam prep. In the realworld, you gotta know what to do, in like emergency's. othertimes you can just figure it out if u open a book.
Just seen to many older people claiming there mcse and they just freeze or lock up clueless.

I wonder how many new buyers will choose a manual trans over an automatic.
I suspect that not many will choose the manual trans......... most buyers of a fwd coupe will probably want an automatic.
That's good news for all you members that want a manual tranny- Most dealers will probably have a hard time moving them off the lot.

I still don't get it. Might be some kind of buyers remorse or compulsive buying thing at work. Mainly I see it like this. Why buy a car that was not equipped with the feature you really wanted anyways? And such a integral feature such as a manual! I know some will say they got the auto because "lookit all the features included" and "bang for the buck". But than why sell/trade/lease your relatively new slush car that you knew was an auto? Remorse, compulsion,...hmmm?
