So is my buddy freaking me out about my intake?

So i got the weapon R intake and showed my buddy it for the first time. He is telling me the the filter is dry and needs to be grease or something like that. Is this true?

not greased...oiled.

K&N makes a special oil for the paper filters. The paper filter is actually white when washed and dried. Use the oil to make it pink again (that sounded interesting).

If it is brand new, I wouldn't worry about it.

By the way, where did you get your intake? Around da 'burgh area?

the oil has red dye on it so when you oil it, you can see where you missed. but as stated on the recharger kit, the red dye will fade but the oil will still remain.

tell your buddy to lick it and see if it's oiled or not.

Well if/when you do...DONT buy the K&N recharger. Get something specifically for your foam filter.

You don't need it the foam itself acts as the filter....you can buy the foam cleaner and a spray oil for it. Up to you...I just get a new foam whenever mine gets super dirty....about 30-50K.

You should be able to order a hat from www.weapon-r.com, if they don't sell the hat separate..you can get the spray oil and cleaner for like $15.
