to synthetic.

Got my shipment of Amsoil last week and switched over at 54,000 miles. I had been taking the car to Acura for oil changes, but no more. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a car that is so easy to change the oil. Turn front wheels to the right and bam....instant access to the oil filter. Sure beats the Integra...the oil filter is way up on the back of the engine.

Got the oversized SDF44 filters. Man they are huge compare to the Honda ones. Ran the Amsoil engine flush first. I used my pneumatic pump I got for my birthday. Wow is it easy to drain the crankcase.

NSXNEXT good move. Just for the fun of it I put 6K miles on some Amsoil and then drained it and sent a small amount to the test lab people BLACKSTONE. The results were great, and note that this is an engine that had 150K on it (my TL). Blackstone said that the oil was fine, that it still had three times the detergent left in it compared to a top rated dino oil, and that it could easily have protected well to 10K or more. Also, the amount of molybenulum (or however it is spelled) which is what the rings are made of was 7 parts per million, but that 65 was the normal reading!

Looked at both and talked to a few people familiar with Amsoil and they didn't see a big difference between the two. May switch after I use up what I have.

No, decided to wait until Spring to switch. The car pretty much sat in the garage all winter.
