Snow chains on the CLS

Sorry to bring this up again. It's been bugging me in the back of my mind and I want to know whY! Why is it the CLP can have chains and our TYPE S' can't? Don't tell me it's Rim size, cause u can always get a new set of rims and mount chains on them, no? Why is it in the manual this isn'texplained as a possible alternative. Does it mean, not matter what tires, the CLS cannot have chains? What gives?

Clearance issues with the wider wheels...

(They [Acura Care] don't even want cable devices mounted on the CL Type-S.)

That's right, it is a clearance issue. Why don't try to find 16" wheel from CL-P or Accord for snowies, then chains can be mounted.

That's what gets me, why dones't ACURA say in the manual that chains are not a problem if clearance isn't a problem. Why don't they put that in the manual instead of making us sign a waiver?

Unfortunately, certain places in Cali (Lake Tahoe, for example) requires chains when the weather gets snowy.

Not that it makes a difference to me in FL, but I had an extended stay in NorCal a few years ago.
