smoking brakes?!?!

today it is raining ridiculously hard and there are deep puddles everywhere (1-3 inches)

i get home and in the garage i notice that steam or smoke is coming from the two front wheel wells....no smell or anything just whisps of white stuff

i popped the hood, and saw that nothing was steaming, but that my cai had condensation on it and had some water on the filter...the usual engine smell was there, nothing funny...

im tripping out right now! what the hell was steaming/smoking...i think it may be brakes, but the rotors were not that hot....

please help

You touched the brakes? And the water probably cooled it down a lot.

ever go outside after a nice downpour on a hot day? Steam rises from the ground. Go to a lake after it was hot and got really cold suddenly, the lake will be steaming also.

does not need to be "boiling" to steam.

that's why we have fog.
