Also, just incase you don't understand how much 70 whp is... I gained 100 crank horsepower. No one in their right mind can say that a 100 horsepower increase isn't awesome

No, I'm well aware of WHP vs Crank...My E55 went from 410RWP to 460RWHP.

I just thought a blower will make it faster than 1/2...I guess I was thinking since the 540 with Blower literally shaves off a whole second in the 1/4.

Anywa, bunch of us E55 guys rented Capitol Raceway this Friday...feel free to drop by. I'm expecting to run in the 11s.

Steve and I were actually planning on heading over there for test&tune on Friday night. Is the track closed for your rental? How much is everyone chipping in?

Blower+high boost pulley will hopefully have shaved off .9 from my 1/4 time.

I have not run before...

I'm seeing bunch of guys run low 12s for E55 in stock form and a guy with same Renntech setup ran 11.6 @ 124MPH at Capitol Raceway.

I'm not sure if I will achieve 11.6 but I hope to be in the high 11's at best...but we'll see.

Not sure since he works during the days ( I do too, but having my own biz kinda gives me the flexibitlity). Too bad Joe doesn't have his CLS anymore, I swear that thing can hit low 14s to high 13s...yes it felt THAT fast..

I'll ask.

Our trap speeds are quite fast, but our weight, plus a FWD drivetrain makes launching an issue. If I could get traction off the line I have the horsepower for a 13.2 pass. When I run at the track I leave like I would from a traffic light. I don't go WOT till about 40-50'

Launching is my concert as well since I"m putting down 520.1RWTQ now...I will practice a bit before I hit the track.

I have 40k on my all season tires. They aren't stock and were quite sticky about 5k miles ago and before the blower. But now I get gobbs of wheel hop.

520.1 RWTQ Try drag radials. I saw an E55 at MIR run 11.23 on DR's.

I just called Capitol and they said the track was being rented out on Sunday. No one has it rented tomorrow - so normal test&tune.

Nice runs However you beat that SRT by 0.136s, I wouldn't call that 'smoking' him
Let's not get carried away... if you blow past someone by 4-6 car lengths, that's considered 'smoking' someone IMO.

Unless of course you were referring to having 'smoked' your tires... and just happened to line up against an SRT and you beat it!

I know the times don't show it, but if I posted the slips it would look like a better margin of victory. He got the better R/T, better 60', but I pulled him in and had him by 2 lengths at the end

I'm headed back to the track tonight we'll see who I smoke then

Whoops, wrong thread, I just went back and read some of the other posts, I figured this was the usual, "No way a CL-S could beat a SRT-4" topic that always happens after someone says they beat a SRT-4. Obviously I know that was a bad driver, he freakin killed it off the line. I was just trying to say that not everyone knows how to drive therefore anything can be beat. That's what I meant by, this should put it to rest.

Depends. My trap speed would be higher. But the 6 speeds have an even harder time launching at the track.

Put it this way.

Allmotor currently has the record of 12.9 for his turbo set up and 13.5 on slicks with no turbo.

His 12.9 turbo run was slower up until the 1/8th mile than his 13.5 run was. Traction is a bitch with FWD.

All excuses and explinations aside, you didn't smoke him. Admit it. Your car has some speed. There is no question about it and that's not what myself and others are getting at. The facts are, that within 1320 feet, your two cars covered the distance in almost the same time. The race was from point A to point B and the two cars performed almost the same.

Now, good luck on the project and smoke him next time.

It is awesome!

Your speeds and times put Vetts, save the new Z06, on notice that they better have their game on or lose.

A mid 13 sec car is fast period. Just look how it compares to the big boys of the Muscle Car era. You're among the Top 20 Fastest!

When will you guys learn you just can't look at the timeslip. You need to see the race to get the full picture of what Steve is saying by "smoked him".

Granted the timeslip makes it appear close, but if Steve is saying that the SRT took him strong off the line, and Steve then pulled him stong on the big end, then I agree that Steve smoked him. Meaning that Steve was pulling hard on him on the big end, and that's where the S/C is strong. The S/C isn't going to help much on your 0-60 times, but once moving . . . look out!

Mrsteve, finally got down to Capitol Raceway today with another E55 buddy and 2 other last gen E55 (stock), 1 GS400 with SRT TC.

My best run was 12.1 @ 117
stock E55 (current Gen) best run 12.5 @ 112
Last Gen E55 consistent 13.5/13.6
GS4 14.7 best run

Heavily modded Camero with slicks ran 11.9 @ 120

I would have tought the Camero would be in low 11's/high 10's.

I think I will try MIR since some E55 guys are claiming 12.0 in stock form.

What a blast it was...too bad NovawhiteTypeS had a potential buyer to look at his 740iL or else he would have run too.

wtf... was it rented out maybe? I got there at about 5:20ish and the gates were closed and no one was out there. An SRT-4 turned around right in front of me at the gates and headed home too. Sucked

those

SRT-4's are no joke.... at the track a stage 3 mopar kit neon was running 12.9's all day.... neck and neck with my cobra. (I squeezed him by .04 seconds on the one run I had with him)

Another SRT was running 12.4!

Stupid cars cost 10 dollars, so they have plenty of mod money left to tear it up!

I beleive there was a price increase to $10.06. Good thing a real boost gauge was included stock as the mods budget was decreased.
