Smog question for Cali 01 CLs

has anyone w/an 01 CL in Cali had to get their car smogged yet? i bought mine in june of 2000 but haven't received a notice to get the car smogged.

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm#BM2539
Starting January 1, 2005, owners of vehicles six or less model years old will pay an annual smog abatement fee for the first six registration years instead of being required to provide a biennial smog certification. The registration renewal notice mailed to you by the department will indicate if a smog certification is required. If a smog certification is required and you have not had a smog inspection, you may still pay your registration fees to avoid any late fees. However, you will not receive your new registration or year sticker until the smog information has been received by DMV.

The next time your registration BILL comes in the mail you'll probably see something that says that your car must pass smog in order for you to renew your registration.

I had to smog mine in Mar '07. I bought it used and the production date is Mar/00 so I guess it was first purchased shortly after that.

Most semi modern well maintained vehicles pass with room to spare. My 94 Landcruiser just did.

My 1986 300zx with 228K original miles passed with flying colors and quite a bit of room to spare.
