SMITTY need some help...QUICKLY! Jens?

This is kind of akward. Smitty called me on my Onstar phone in the CL just as I ran out of minutes. He probably thinks I hung up on him. I didn't Carl...Onstar did it for me!

Guys, Smitty needs to get his calipers completely stripped down, mechanically. Who has done this? Jens...can you help?

Before I ran out of minutes, Smitty said he couldn't get the pistons out. He claims they are "pressed in". I say this can't be!

I have never had my calipers on the CL apart, but I have done plenty on my older Camaros, Fiat 124's and X 1/9's.

To me, it was always get the caliper off the bracket and away from the brake rotor. Remove brake pads. Remove dirt seal (carefully, with either a screwdriver or long nose pliers.) Then, push on the brake pedal until the piston(s) pop, or, with a pair of pliers, just grab the piston at the lip and pull them out, twisting back and forth at the same time.

Is there some trick Smitty or I am missing?

I am making this post for Smitty because he is 30 miles from his computer, but I believe, heading for it. Let's try to get him an answer quickly!

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stock rear calipers or the Rotaras in the front? Should be able to blow compressed air through to get the pistons out or like you said pump the pedal with the caliper off the rotor.
