smeary windshield fluid

Yep, I just started noticing problem with my windshield fluid, my wipers leave mess on the window even though I clean windshield window first. I have messy lines on the windshield from the wipers ....
This problem become more evident when we hit 100 degree heat, the whole thing just melts down and stinks... and I can't see shit when driving during the night.

Will show it to my delaer on Satarday, I already made an appointment.

hey i had the same problem. twice!!! dealer replaced them for free. oh and tell them to drain the fluid inside and NOT put acura brand fluid in. go to track auto or kmart and get any 99 cents washer fluid. anything is better than the acura crap that melts off the rubber.

I had the same problem, but I replaced the wipers with Bosch and I've already gone through gallons of washer fluid and rainX. I'm still getting streaks, I don't get it.

any comments?

Maybe you should flush your windshield fluid bucket with water first? Maybe your hoses that carry windshield fluid are melted ? I am taking my to the dealer before I start spending my money to fix it.

there was a service bulletin about this a while back. there was something in the washer fluid from the factory. they need to "flush" your reservoir, refill, change blades, then you should be all set.

I know someone who had this problem. The dealer had to change everything and the reservoir (and lines) to resolve the problem.

mtypes,

My Acura dealer drained and flushed my windshield washer tank and lines, and replaced the wiper blades gratis (free).

Edited: Yup - W.Washer supply lines needed to be replaced also.

BTW, how'd they fix your sunroof rattle? Was it a hassle to get it done right?

Ya see, I'm taking my CL-S in to have them look at the infamous rotor/brake problem--at only 16K miles--and mebbe get the sunroof rattle fixed.

I used to own Legend sedans, and I'm kinda surprised at this annoying s*&t is going on. I mean, isn't the CL-S supposed to be an Acura too?

Still, ya gotta love the CL-S anyways

Guys- the new, revised fix is to replace the hoses and blades, flush and fill. Apparently, the hoses were degrading on the inside and being depositied on the windows. this fix seems to work nicely.

Its funny, I called my acura dealer about smeary windshield fluid, and they told me that there is a service bulletin for that windshield fluid, but they said that this is only for certain VIN numbers, not all cars have this problem. Is that true ?
Do you know which VIN numbers? My car has DOM 6/00

russiandude- the bulletin (#01-004) pertains to CLs from vin #1A000001 to 1A032357. If your vin is higer than that, the bulletin does not apply to your car.

yeye, my VIN is in that range, so I qualify. I guess they should fix it under waranty without any doubts.
