Dude, talk to your insurance adjuster. Hopefully you have insurance. You pay the deductable and the insurance pays the rest.

Was the thing left behind that broke the window. (ie, rock, hammer, tennis ball)
And ya, that is probably going to cost a good penny, because of the defroster, but isn't the antennae integrated into the rear window????

Nothing was stolen, so I think it was pure vandalism which really pisses me off. I think I'm just going to go through insurance, 250$ deductable.

May want to call some glass places to see what it costs. Some may do it under $250, or slightly above that. You have to pay $250 anyway why get insurance involved?
Given th costs of windshields, I'd say the rear window would be around or slightly higher. Around here a front is $225ish.

a rear glass to our 99 explorer (which is factory tinted and has the defroster with no antenna) cost $1000. I know this because one time when we where pulling our boat (the one and only day my dad attached it to the trailer hitch never putting the latch down) it popped off and hit about 2 inches below the glass. the body shop said that we where lucky that it didnt hit the glass as it cost that much. And that was not factory pricing either. It was from a local glass place. Factory was like $1400. Please note that this was like 4 to 5 years ago...

There is no way he is going to get this under 200 bucks unless he gets it from a junk yard.
