Unhappy

It was a TL-S, not a CL-S, look at the rear corner tail lights and the back passenger door. Poor person who was driving.....

You're right...it's a TL. And this is the second really bad accident I've heard of recently involving a 2nd Gen. I think it was a CL into a telephone pole last month (I think they were running from the cops or something).

Jeez.

How fast do you have to be going for that to happen. And are you telling me that this was a single car accident.

Can anyone find out more about this? I want to make sure it's no one any of us know.

Regardless if the driver was being stupid or not, what a terrible way to go out. The way I see it, we have more than likely all gone 100mph at one time or another. Anything could have happened to cause this, not just being stupid. My condolences go out to this persons family and friends.

EDIT: I'm guessing this was in or around the Huston area?

Well, did you listen to the guys testimony. He flew through a red light and proceeded going.

Your right, I have gone 100mph before ( on the open highways), but I guarantee none of us have gone 100 mph through an intersection endangering everyone around. It was in suburban streets thats this happens. There has to be more to the story.....

Its just scary, I travel every week on the highways for work. ANd when its raining, I start driving like a bitch, I slow down to 60mph and stay in teh right lane. I will see these like 2500lb daewoos flying by at 85mph with no cares in the world. You wonder about some people and why they feel like nothing can hurt them.

Yea.....my boy who had a 97 cl would race all the time....luckily him and i survived all the accidents.....missed a pole by a couple inches....another got t-boned....and just a minor one.....

got away with 13 staples and 1 inch gash from the t-bone....it feels good to be alive after getting hit by a car going 60 mph and up.....you dont know (and hope you never will) what it feels like to get hit like that and watch the firefighters use the JAWS OF LIFE to get you out of a car...as you sit on the half of the center console and on half of the drivers lap (no homo)....my christmas jordans survived that crash too woot....lol....only laughing cuz i survived...not really funny....

RACE SAFE is all im saying....thats y they make TRACKS.....

Don't worry. It's a terrible site anyway. All it is, is a big pile of Acura up against a concrete wall. Whoever is still in it is most certainly dead but you can't see anything.

for those who can't watch the video...

edit** i guess the only way to tell what car it is by the rear bumper that is lying on the floor, which is basically the only thing in one piece with a few scratches... notice the 2 lines toward the top and bottom.. i don't think it's a CL...

I saw this on the news here last week - happened here in Houston early one morning, single car accident. Happened like at 6am in the morning - caught it on the news before I left for work. Apparently the guy was just hauling ass (witnesses claim over 100+mph - evidently from the carnage) and lost it. Ran into the concrete wall which I think was the Bellaire @ 610 interchange.

I could see how that could happen, that area is a lot of new roads that are nice and smooth....although that type of accident early in the morning sounds like someone on drugs or drinking all night or something......

I'm with the others on this board, looking at the rear end and the door, it looks like a TL and not a CL.

It is definitely a TL from the wheels, but RIP. Shitty Houston drivers.
