Smartlites
Has anyone heard of "smartlites" cornering lites? I am having them installed on my car in the near future but waswondering if they will look okay. They seem great, though. I e-mailed the owner to tell him that I wanted a pair and the e-mail he sent me back got lost somewhere. Because of that, he gave me a major discount. They look pretty cool on the site. Check 'em out at www.smartlites.com.

The guy I talked to said that they can go anywhere. Even better, they are remote, so every time you turn the steerigng wheel they turn on so you can see where youre going, al this w/o wires! Pretty nifty.

C'mon, Lincolns, Caddys & Chryslers have had cornering lights since the 60's. It's funny how everything old becomes new again.

I was the first person w/ our car to e-mail the guy. Here is part of his response. It sounds like they will look just fine:
"'Smartlites" is actually a sensor which will activate cornering lights when you turn your steering wheel. It is possible to use any type of light according to the type of vehicle and type of driving you do.
For sleek cars like you are driving, I suggest a type of new "boutique" type of light that many light manufacturers now build. As soon as Smartlites is available to the public, we will be packaging the system with appropriate cornering lights which can be mounted either on the lower part of the front bumper or even a more discreet but very effective position behind and under the driver's door and before the rear wheel. This last position will illuminate the entire area directly to the side of the vehicle; it seems to have a more user friendly reflective quality as well when located there.
For a more extreme example of this, please go to http://www.smartlites.com/images/mitsubishi2.jpg
where my Mitsubishi is shown with "show " lights to get the point of the concept across.
In practical terms, there are smaller lights available which can be mounted that will be hardly noticable on the vehicle except when they are in use."
