Slow ass cars

Myself and a friend's Viper

Viper has the henessey package (650hp) and then he added a 150hp boost of nitrous in the rear, plain EVIL! That car runs low 9s at the track. But to take the attention away from that slow ass thing, I got my 240hp (I know I know, its amazing ) monster which can run low 8s all day (hehe, j/k) Anyways, thought it was a nice pic and posted it for people to enjoy. Just need a CLS with that pic now

Just add a couple of wings and a rear stabilizer, and he can start giving flying lessons. I bet he gets speeding tickets even while parked!

YOU FUCKEN IDIOT! Did I say it was stock? Your now getting on my last nerve. I have seen lots of your stupid remarks on other posts and your really pushing it. You don't know anything about the car and your making judgements. Go back to ricing out your 'baby', leave the rest of us alone! At least the other Acura owners have some respect when talking to people and you are giving all of them a bad name!

Yellow is definately the right color for that car.

Too bad the viper takes away all the looks. I was at Busse woods yesterday and was right behind him in the busy traffic leaving the place and NOT ONE person said "hey nice car" when I usually get lots of that all over. Everyone was talking about 'the viper'.

Actually, I asked him about that.

I asked him if it was true that the Vipers are made just like any other dodge (POS). He told me the answer is no. Told me that its one of the very few domestic cars which is made by hand. I still like mine better because its mine!

I wanted to see how I would match up with him on the freeway yesterday and he pulled on me like hell when I downshifted at about 80 and floored it! After that I called his cell and asked him if he floored it all the way and he said 'no, I just did it about 3/4 the pedal'. I was like WOW! I didn't have any intentions of keeping up with him, just wanted to see how fast of that car becomes a blur to me. After a couple miles I couldn't even see him anymore, crazy driver!

32mpg???? WOW!!! My friend filled up yesterday before the 'trip' to the woods and by the time we got back (after roughly 70 miles of hard driving) he had about 1/4 tank left of gas. I still had a little more than 1/2. People in these vipers drive up our gas prices by using all the gas!

EDIT: Thought this would be worth the post. This is the same guy, but his other 'daily driver' car. A BMW 750iL (750!!! V12!!! 322hp!) Hes got 150 shot of nitrous in this one too!

There was an interesting article in MT a couple months back about a twin turbo Venom making over 800hp and dynoed at 700+hp! They said they expected the 1/4mi at 10sec or less. Oh, the mods only cost $55k.

I heard the Hennessey package was $60k installed for the engine work and $150k for both the engine/body work w/ labor.

He just has the engine work done ($60k to pay off my car and buy a second one too!!!). Get this, both his cars are paid off and hes only 22 (turned 22 last week or so). Thats my inspiration to start a damn business!

Funny you should bring that up. I asked him about changing his hood over to the new 2001 style with the ram-air setup. He told me that the dealer charges $18k just for the hood!!! Is that insane or what? I don't think I could afford a car like that with a $18k hood. Too rich for my blood.

Well of course he'd say that - he's driving one.

I've heard of them throwing a rod once in a while. No minor problems though, just a random major one once in a long time.

It seems Ford&Chrystler are the car makers where you only get SERIOUS problems but not all that often whereas GM gives you lots of minor grief but nothing that will leave you sitting on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Just an interesting theory I have about America's major auto manufacturers.

Well after being in five GM cars in my family, there's always some rattle or some minor leak somewhere that'll get fixed, then you find another one, fix that, then another, etc.

But while you're trying to find that damned rattle you're driving past a Ford or Crystler that's sitting on the side of the road smoking, burned to a crisp, or otherwise DEAD.

-J

I'm not saying either situation is better than the other, but I hope my Acura turns out to be better than all of those American cars I've lived with.

I have owned 2 Pontiac cars, had a few chevys in the family and I can claim this with disregard for what ANYONE says. Majority of american cars are POS!

I don't think you should have a problem with your Acura since last year they were #1 over EVERY manufacturer in being reliable. BMW came in 4th and Mercedes came in 8th. Land Rover came in 30th!!!!! Damn, they suck!

Did I say that the Viper is stock? I said my CL runs 11s stock if that Viper runs 9s with the mods described. Are you people trying to start up shit for no reason?

hello that is well capable of running 9's

The Henessey Viper dynoed at 830HP run 10.3 secs. To get in the low 9s you need a lot more power than the above described Viper. If that car runs 9s it makes more than posted HP.

I'll be nice now. We are going to the track this weekend (sunday morning), would you like to join us and be living proof the the 9s? You can run your CLS at the 11s if the Viper hits the 9s. How about it bud? Join us for our meeting Sat. night at buffalo grove.

See I am smart enough to know that a Viper that makes about 800Hp cannot run low 9s (provided the weight is similar to stock). I do not have to go to the track to figure that out. You on the other hand seem to have that need. Go to the track, tape it for me and I will apologize to everyone and correct myself.

But I thought that you corrected yourself already. Low 10s I kinda believe. You initially said low 9s. That was a major bull statement and that is what I answered to.

And then you woke up

As for the tape, that would be fun. Tape the Viper, post it on the web and we will all visit (I'm sure). You should start thinking of looking for ad sponsors cos there is going to be a lot of traffic to the site. Vipers, even stock, attract a lot of attention right?
