SL55 got SMOKED by a rusty civic
I thought I'll grab your attention 
Here is the story I found...

So me and my uncle were coming back from dinner at Outback, crusing down Route 29 in his Mercedes SL55 AMG. We pulled up to a stop sign and I saw a pair of purple lights coming up on us. I looked to my right and saw a rusted civic hatch with 3 different colors of primer next to us. It had steelies and duct taped trashbag over his rear driver's door.
He looked at me and I looked at him, and then he started revving.... My uncle looked at him and started laughing so then he started revving too. As I was looking at him, he reached over around his shifter and pulled something then suddenly his car was at least 3 times as louder. Sounded like he had no muffler on
So the light turn to green, both of us fly off the line, and we couldn't hear anything over his exhaust besides the sound of a loud BOV screeching. We were in the lead for the first gear, then as soon as we kicked it into second he just walked by us like we were standing still. Then all we saw was his tail lights and all we heard was his car roaring mile down the road.
So... my uncle was pissed... and shocked that his 100K+ car got smoked by a POS Civic with a ****ed up paintjob...
just thought i'd share that adventure with u guys

back in the old days - I drove it to the track and drove it home. Nowadays the cars do run quicker (low 10's), but that's on alcohol and they are true race-cars!

Hmmmm...........which would I like to drive, and SL55 or some POS Civic? Not everything in life revolves around what you can do in a straight line..........

That Civic vs. Viper was cool... the Civic is definateley very fast. However, it is not running 10's. A 10-second civic will be spinning tires in 3rd and 4th gear.... that car had good traction. It is probably a mid 12-second car similar to the viper. The viper will get a good launch and run a tad quicker, but that's how I see it.

I've had fast cars my entire life... cars with a lot of bragging rights and so on. However, the car that turned the most heads (chicks) was my NSX and it was the slowest of the lot!

Almost any fast civic I've seen has looked like a POS duct taped together, yet they would smoke anything at the track.
But still the pimp factor of a SL 55 vs. a civic is uncomparable. Most women love the $$$ cars, not the fast ugly ones.

i doubt these guys with fast honda's really care about pickin up chicks or turnin heads all they want is to go fast. It'd be nice to drive and play around in a civic but at the end of the day not much will beat and SL55 AMG parked in the garage.

hahahaha that happens in South FL all the time, got a couple 140+ trapping civics that come out to the meets every once in a while; look just like Ram's.... "bone stock" and all have that belt squeal.

Putting gold trim on an MB is BLING BLING...putting gold trim on a Civic is just gold plating a turd.

the civic could have had an exhaust disconnector device or whatever..basically you can disconnect the header from the exhaust with a switch so you are running no restrictions and still run a stock exhaust when you feel like it...this is the setup cheesefrog uses..last pic i saw of his car (a few years ago) he had a stock exhaust too

The funny thing is, most people don't even know how to find the line on the tracks. You can have the best handling car in the road, but if you cant drive for shit, you just as good as the shitty car next to you. All in the driver man....
