some kid i know w. a 95ish camaro z28 w/ the lt1 engine wants to race, we lined up to go at it today but the spot i race at was too busy. were gonna go at it sometime soon. i dunno if i can take him or not, were just gonna go like 0-70ish. can i beat this summa bitch, maybe i'll put some $$$ on the race

I had an '85 Camaro IROCZ with the HO 190 (way underrated) engine and 5 speed. I own a couple of "S's." His old pushrod has too much torque for you to take him...if he can drive it. The only way you can beat him is if he burns so much rubber that he's standing in one spot and you launch perfectly, you might take him in the 1/4. Otherwise...fugetaboutit!
I agree with everyone else - if he gets a crap launch (I have a feeling this kid has no idea what he's doing, so i'd almost expect that to happen) you can take him. Although your headers and intake might give you the needed edge if his k&n stuff doesn't add to much to his car.

my friend has a bone stock 97 formula with factory 3.53 posi 4AT...when we line up i get the jump and slowly start pulling on him all gears ...there peak numbers are high but there curve isnt that great
