silver or black???

I plan on buying a CL-S with Navi within the next two weeks. I currently own a silver 98 SLK. I love the silver because of the low upkeep. I am unsure if I want the CL-S in silver because sometimes it looks purple. The only other color I would consider would be black with tan interior, but is the upkeep worth it? Does anyone else feel this way? Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

SILVER OR BLACK?

I say go Silver.

I love black... but its just too much work. And at least if something happens to your silver paint... you will never notice it. On black you will stare at it all day.

It all depends on you--if you want the ultimate good looking car and don't mind keeping it clean, go black. If you're lazy, go silver--never looks dirty, but never really looks clean either. And, it seems as though everyone on this board has a silver one.

Silver--Black is impossible to keep clean. It starts showing dust as soon as the chamois is off the car.. need to wash it every day if you're picky--Red is a happy medium.

This is my personal opinion. When my car is dirty I wish I had gotten the silver, When my car is clean I'm glad I picked black. Lately I've been wishing I had gotten silver (I haven't washed the car in about a month and a half).

Mine is silver also. I once had a 1989 Camaro, for 9 years, that was black and an absolute nightmare to keep looking nice. When it was clean and waxed, it looked awesome. But, when it got a scratch, a paint chip, a door ding, or just plain ole dirty it looked aweful!

Go with the silver if you don't mind that's it's probably the most popular.

Hey some of us have gold!! Actually you could wait for the color changes in the '02 model lineup if neither color does it for you. But when black is clean............oooh

Although my parents is silver, I prefer black more. But yes it's harder to maintain looking clean for black, silver is easy.

Silver, particularly if you park often in a parking lot or parking garage. The dings and paint chips aren't as noticeable.

I got a silver one and I love it, but now everybody has a silver CL-S or a silver colored car. I think SILVER is the COLOR that is in and the color of the new MILLENIUM.

go with black. put a good thick coat of wax on there and it will look fairly clean for a long time.

dont get silver, EVERBODY has silver. (sorry members)

TO ME silver gets boring, if I were you i would get Gold...or black.

My Cl-S is black, and it looks soooo SHARP!, especieally with the tinted windows,,,it looks like the car is wearing a shiney Armani Suit.

Trust me, get black, or get gold.

I get 2 car washes a week.

a) Either Friday afternoon then again on tuesday.

OR

b)Saturday morning then again on Wednesday.

Friday and Saturday night..I chill one night with my boys and 1 night a weekend wiith a girl. the girl night gets the car wash day.

silver-harder to see swirl marks. I love black, there is no color like it. I notice you live in Ohio where you get a fair amount of precip I'm sure. Harder to see spots on a silver car.
